The Bravery is an interesting band based out of New York City. The synth-driven sound is such a reminder to me, recalling the 80s sound of New Wave, very Flock of Seagulls or Modern English, while maintaining a crisp edge more indicative of today. The Bravery are Sam Endicott (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Zakarin (lead guitar [also known as Moose], backing vocals), John Conway (keyboards, backing vocals), Mike Hindert (bass, backing vocals), and Anthony Burulcich (drums, backing vocals).
The Bravery dropped a new album today, called Stir The Blood. To celebrate the release [which I hope to be reviewing once I get a copy for myself], The Bravery stopped by the Yahoo Studios and record a live version of their latest single, Slow Poison.

The Bravery are an exciting young band, and you can find out more about them at their official website here. You can purchase the latest album on iTunes here.
The Bravery are a great band and their sound is characteristic of that New York sounds, similar to bands like The Killers (although they are from Vegas baby); Interpol and of course The Strokes.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan - def there sound is characteristic of 80's new wave of which I am a big fan.
I also heard that some of the members have been writing pop songs in between gigs - they wrote "She Wolf" for "Shakira".
Great post.
SteveA, I just discovered them, and really like 'em. Got the CD, and when I get the chance, will be listening and reviewing. And I love Interpol and the Strokes.
