Another voice is silent. Donna Summer, the full-voiced sultry first lady of Disco, lost her battle with cancer, and passed away today at the age of 63. I will put together a more comprehensive look at her career, but until then, I offer you her 1976 release, "Could It Be Magic," written by Barry Manilow and Adrienne Anderson. Summer had a long career that proved her talent to be magic itself, combining soulful vocals with a dance beat to rule the dance club for decades.
Rest In Peace, Lady Disco.
she will be missed
ReplyDeleteMost definitely, my friend. She certainly will be missed.
DeleteThe dance music divas of today from Rihanna to Britney to Gaga would not exist if not for Donna Summer .
ReplyDeleteToo true, SFR, I was just writing about that same thing in posts for tomorrow. I would include Madonna on that list as well.
