Last night was the season finale for the BBC's Being Human. I honestly started the season knowing that Mitchell was gone, and that George was leaving as well. I didn't know Nina was not returning, leaving only Annie from the original cast. But I started the season not sure if I would finish out the episodes, missing my Mitchell and George way too much. Then we were introduced to Hal, and Tom continued to hang around. And the action and story lines remained excellent, and I was hooked once again, and couldn't wait for each new episode. Too soon, it was the last episode of the season, which aired last night on BBC America. Yesterday, I posted about the first 40 minutes of the finale, and since there are no more coming up, I thought tonight, I would tell you the rest of the story...
Mr. Snow has a chat with Hal in the cafe, asking Hal if he admires humanity so much, why does he take out his failures on them? Hal believes on of these days he will succeed. But Mr. Snow will not let up, and continues to push Hal, whose defenses are weakening. The Old Ones have kept tabs on Hal, knew about Pearl and Leo, and about Tom and Annie. They gave him his space. But now, doesn't he want to come home to them? Why won't he order Hal to come back into the fold? He thinks he already has him, heart and mind. At the B&B, Tom tries to sneak in, and leave with Eve. He takes her to the warehouse, to the vampires.
Tom wants to stay with her, and take care of her. Mr. Snow wants to hold her. Hal comes in with a bomb, and tells Tom to get the baby and leave. Mr. Snow stops him, and disarms him. Hal takes his place among the Old Ones. And in comes Annie and Alex, and they start knocking over Old Ones left and right. Soon, Hal and Tom are joining in the fight. Mr. Snow calls an end to the fighting, and returns the baby to Annie, to be the custodian for the vampire's future. She can raise Eve, while the vampires take over, and destroy it. Annie tells Alex to rent-a-ghost Hal out of there, and tells Eve she loves her. She then ignites the bomb.
The warehouse explodes, and through the flames, she sees her door. She passes through, and finds baby Eve awaiting her. And Grown-up Eve as well. It seems her unfinished business was to save the world. Big Eve fades away, for she never existed, and never saw the blight the world went through. She smiles and makes her final passage.
Back on Earth, the man in charge of Alex's body is talking to a woman who was in the club. He tells her his job is to keep the world clean, magicians to keep the world a simple place for humans. He leaves with the evidence of Tom transforming in the club. Turns out he is Mr. Book, and he brings the materials back to a library, to be organized and kept safe. He files things and leaves. Back at the B&B, Tom helps to tie Hal up, who seems to be losing it, shouting at Tom and Alex. Hal wonders aloud why Tom is helping him. Tom explains, he is Tom's best mate.
And the fourth season comes to an end. What will happen on Series 5 of the Being Human? Well, it seems as though Annie is gone, and Alex will be taking over the job as ghost. I can't wait for Season 5, just another 10 months away.
