Candy Apple Blue • Mistake

Left to right: Hoyt Emerick and Carly Emerick.

The striking duo in the photo above are Candy Apple Blue, the Pittsburgh-based group made up by siblings Hoyt and Carly Emerick. They first came to my attention through some work with a favorite of mine, SIRPAUL. They had written "Going Down In La La Land", the theme to the wonderful movie by Casper Andreas, performed by SIRPAUL. Recently, I was able to check out some of their original music, and have been enjoying it. I thought I would share two of their most recent songs, both of which you can download for free! First up, I was thrilled to see a music video for the song "Mistake". The imagery is bold and brash, with colors and photo-cubes rolling across the screen. The video and song both feature Carly.

You can download "Mistake" for FREE. Next up I offer you "The Beat That Keeps You Moving", which puts Hoyt in the spotlight. The music drives the energy forward, refusing to allow the listener to not get involved, and be a part of the energy. Listen and tell me what you thing.

You can download "The Beat That Keeps You Moving" for FREE. I am hoping to get the opportunity to ask a few questions of the duo soon, to learn ever more about them. Until then, if you'd like to find out more about Candy Apple Blue, visit their official website.
