I will start off your Saturday morning with a little ditty written by Leon René, under the songwriting pseudonym of Jimmie Thomas. "I Sold My Heart to The Junkman" Was first recorded in 1946 by The Basin Street Boys. The song has been sung by many since, including the brilliant Bette Midler, off her 1998 release, 'Bathhouse Betty'. Bette can caress a song like few others can, and she can just as easily rock one out. Enjoy her sweet treatment of "I Sold My Heart To The Junkman".

You can purchase 'Bathhouse Betty' from iTunes and Amazon.

  1. Great song. Thanks for the reminder of a cd I've owned since it was released but haven't listened to for a long time.

  2. There is something special and familiar about Bette and her voice, that always makes me smile.

    1. There is a richness and depth to her voice that never fails to touch me.
