To celebrate the beginning of the weekend, especially considering Sunday is Father's Day, I thought it would be fun to kick off the weekend with the 1989 Dance hit for the Thompson Twins, "Sugar Daddy". The song went to #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and also made it to #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. By this time, the Thompson Twins were down to two members, Tom Bailey and Alannah Currie, now a couple. In fact, they had their first child together the year before.
"Sugar Daddy" was their last hit to chart in the top 40. They moved to New Zealand until they split up and returned to the UK.

Wow - I loved this song....at the time I had no idea what "daddy" was in gay circles or the extended sugar daddy....haha....I was way too naive!
