The Young Professionals • Think Again EP

It has been a while since I have featured my Israeli husband and his music, so I must get back to it. About a month ago The Young Professionals released a new EP, and I missed it. I know, grounds for divorce and all that, but I am hoping Ivri forgives me. But first, perhaps I should remind you a little before I jump into it all. The Young Professionals is an Israeli electro pop band, with producer Johnny Goldstein and singer/songwriter/producer Ivri Lider at the creative core. And since I first discovered his music, Ivri, and out and proud musical superstar in Israel, and I have had a special bond. That is to say, I've had a total crush on him, and he doesn't know who I am. But I am good with that. 'Think Again is the new EP released on March 31, 2014, a five-track collection that is just aching to be heard. The first song on the EP is also the first I shall feature in this post. "Let's Do It Right" features Eva Simons, and has a delectable feel of some of my favorite Electro-Pop from the 1980s, while still sounding new and fresh. The boys are joinied in the fun by Dutch music star Eva, and the fun cannot be avoided. This is "Let's Do It Right".

For the second track, which might very well be my favorite off the EP, is "Say Hey". On the song, Ivri and Johnny are joined by an Amaerican Hip-Hop group. Far East Movement is a Los Angeles-based quartet made up by Kev Nish (Kevin Nishimura), Prohgress (James Roh), J-Splif (Jae Choung), and DJ Virman (Virman Coquia). Together, the groups combine melodic music with Rap to make something filled with energy and joy. This is "Say Hey" featuring Far East Movement.

The third song is the title track, and I also love it. The EP also includes "Welcome to the Down", a buoyant and alive, with moments of smokey goodness. You can purchase the 'Think Again' EP on iTunes and Amazon. For more about The Young Professionals, visit their official website. You can also 'follow' them on Twitter, and 'like' them on Facebook. The Young Professionals Support Marriage Equality

The Young Professionals photo TheYoungProfessionals_zpsdd07eec6.jpg

The Young Professionals, the Israeli group of Ivri Lider and Johnny Goldstein who have made some great music and interesting videos have made one more, making clear their stand on Marriage Equality around the world. I mean, it should come as no surprise, since Ivri, my future husband, has been an out and proud musician for the last decade. But it is wonderful to see him continue to stand tall and proud. Enjoy this video!

For more about The Young Professionals, visit their official website. You can also purchase their album, '9AM To 5PM - 5PM To Whenever', you can find it on iTunes and Amazon. As a solo artist, Lider has released seven albums, two of which were certified Gold, and the other two certified Platinum. He is one of the biggest-selling contemporary artists in Israeli music, and has won the Male Singer of the Year honor from Israeli national and local radio stations since entering the Israeli music scene in the late 1990s. The Young Professionals • Be With You Tonight

The Young Professionals
Photobucket The Young Professionals - Johnny Goldstien

I was very excited to hear The Young Professionals - TYP - have a new song and video out from the strong album, '9AM to 5PM, 5PM to Whenever'. TYP is an Israeli band featuring Yonathan Goldshtein, as well as my future husband, Ivri Lider. So I went to check it out, and I was intrigued to discover I didn't know the song, and it wasn't on my copy of '9AM to 5PM, 5PM to Whenever'. With additional information, I learned I was referencing the 2011 release in my collection, not the 2012 re-release I seemed to not know about, with three new tracks replacing some originals. One of those tracks is "Be With You Tonight", the song featured in this video.

To find out more about The Young Professionals, visit the official website. You can purchase the latest release of '9AM to 5PM, 5PM to Whenever', you can find it at on iTunes and Amazon. If you have the 2011 release, you can find the additional songs on an EP for purchase on iTunes and Amazon. The EP includes a video of the performance by the band at the opening of the Modern Art Museum of Tel Aviv. There are some incredible graphics utilized in the performance. There is also a cover of the Lana Del Rey song, "Video Games", that I just love. Check it out if you haven't already. It is worth purchasing...

The Young Professionals • Last Christmas

The Young Professionals Last Christmas

I truly enjoy the music of The Young Professionals, but that should come as no surprise, since I love the music of Ivri Lider, one half of the group. I've also proposed to him several times in my dreams. Ivri is joined in this endeavor by Yonathan Goldshtein, and together they are making something special. Their latest comes from a YouTube upload, as the Israeli duo offer a cover of "Last Christmas", written and recorded 28 years ago, in 1984. Enjoy the Young Professionals take on "Last Christmas".

For more about The Young Professionals, visit their official website. You can find their music on iTunes, Amazon and other places where fine music is sold.

Post-Sandy Dance Party

The Young Profesionals B.Slade
Simulover Chris Salvatore
Clockwise: The Young Professionals; B.Slade; Chris Salvatore; and Simulover.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, I seem to have a bit of fatigue, as if I was hit by the high winds and rain myself. So I am trying to catch up with myself, and get back to the blog after a couple of days off. I was at a loss as to what to post, feeling little inspiration. I looked around at dance music, still uninspired. I even turned on the cable music station, thinking if all else fails, I would just pick the first four songs and post them. As I was doing that, I decided this was not the answer. I would not find inspiration in random songs. So I decided to pick out four songs by out artists I love to listen to, and suddenly it all fell together. It certainly didn't hurt I began with a great track from B.Slade™ off his album Deep Purple. Enjoy as the so very gifted B.Slade as he sings "Phony Pony."

For more about B.Slade, visit his official website. I have been a fan of SIRPAUL and his amazing music for some time, and when he started working with DJ Alex Lauterstein, I was intrigued. The pairing was called Simulover, and their love of Electronica brought them together to make some sexy, sultry sounds. Listen to one of the songs off the 2011 debut, "Unbroken."

For more about Simulover, visit his official website. And speaking of duos, I have loved the music of Ivri Lider sing the first time I heard it in a movie soundtrack, and was thrilled when I heard he was making some Electronica/Dance music with a new musical partner, Yonathan Goldshtein. The calleed the group The Young Professionals, often abbreviating to TYP. In 2011, they released the album '9:00 To 17:00 To Whenever,' and I bought it the moment it became available. So enjoy the song "With Me" off that debut.

For more about The Young Professionals, visit his official website. And, finally, I will bring in a very handsome singer/songwriter who might be perhaps best known for his acting in the popular 'Eating Out' series, as well as others. I actually first came to know his as a singer/songwriter, enjoying his music. I love 'The Sound of This Beat,' and Salvatore's take on the George Michael song "I Want Your Sex."

For more about Chris Salvatore, visit his official website. Have a great Friday, and an even better weekend.

It's Friday, We Should Be Dancing!

The Young Professionals, Ivri Lider & Johnny Goldstein Christopher Dallman
Jimmy Somerville Alex Cassel & Adam Joseph
Clockwise: The Young Professionals; Christopher Dallman; Adam Joseph & DJ Alex Kassel; and Jimmy Somerville.

Tonight's party songs are inspired by the first one, the first live performance of the TYP Band, aka The Young Professionals. The band is made up of Israeli musicians Ivri Lider and Yonathan Goldshtein, and they only recently put out the album of their first collaboration. Ivri Lider is a perennial favorite of mine, and his music has often appeared on this blog. And I have been known to speak of my undying love/lust for Ivri, too. Well, this performance is a mash-up of three songs off the debut, P.O.P, With Me, and Wake Up. This is The Young Professionals and We Should Be Dancing.

You can find this on their Online Store and on Amazon.

Christopher Dallman is another favorite of mine and of the blog. A while ago, he released a song supporting the Marriage Equality movement around the world. Of course, Dallman has a vested interest in the movement, for he not only supports civil rights and equality, he also has a loving marriage with Josh. So hear him sing from the heart on his Anthem, with a Radio Edit by RadBoy.

You can find the original song on iTunes and on Amazon.

I know nothing about the band Blue Ray, save they hail Scandinavian in origin, and have a great edit on the track You & Me. Of course, I don't know how you could go wrong with the vocals of Jimmy Somerville, singing his amazing song, sampling the chorus form the great Bronski Beat song Why?. Here is Blue Ray feat. Jimmy Somerville and You & Me.

You can find the latest EP from Jimmy Somerville, Bright Things, on iTunes and on Amazon.

Last summer, another of my favorite artists took advantage of working with a DJ to make some great music. I have loved the music of Adam Joseph since the first hearing of Flow With My Soul, and I keep coming back since. Last summer, he announced a collaboration with DJ Alex Kassel, and the fruits of their labors, three songs. This is the first of them, so give a listen to Alex Kassel featuring Adam Joseph on Chasing The Dream.

You can find this on iTunes and on Amazon.

Last Friday Night of 2011

Elephant, Jackson & Coleman Vrana
The Young Professionals, Ivri Lider and Yonathan Goldshtein
Clockwise: Elephant, Jimmy Somerville, The Young Professionals, and Sir Ari Gold.

As it is the last Friday night of 2011, I thought I would end it with a review of some great party/dance music from the year to date. And some very hot gay men, too. Well, that is just a very nice bonus point, at least for me. And, as you will be able to hear for yourself, some of my favorite dance music comes in all kinds, from Punky Hip-Hop to Neo-Disco to Euro-beats.

I will start off with one of my favorite tracks from the homo-twins, Coleman and Jackson Vrana, with their biting social commentary set to their own brand of Hop-Hop that sounds more Punk than Pop. Using the group name Elephant, the twins assault the listeners with strong language, hard beats, and bold ideas on the four songs off their debut. Take, for example, their video for the song Notorious H.I.V. off the Queer Nation EP. Being a Friday night post, I just think I will mention this is not safe for work, but great for everywhere else.

You can purchase the Queer Nation EP on iTunes and Amazon.

I have made no attempt to hide my complete infatuation with Ivri Lider and his music. I tell you, if I were to ever meet him, I fear I would embarrass myself, and ask him to marry me or something along those lines. Well, that aside, I was eagerly awaiting his first English-language album, which still has yet to hit the stores. However, we were treated to a release by The Young Professionals, an electronic duo featuring Ivri and Yonathan Goldshtein. Their first album, 9:00 to 17:00, 17:00 to Whenever, is a pure electronic pleasure, one irresistible song after another. Check out their video for the single D.I.S.C.O., and just try to not dance while you listen.

You can purchase 9:00 to 17:00, 17:00 to Whenever on iTunes and Amazon.

Not only is Sir Ari Gold unmistakably hot, he is also incredibly talented. And if you pair him with a legendary voice like Miss Sarah Dash, and you have a single that is impossible to resist. And that would give you the song Sparkle, the second single off Between The Spirit & The Flesh. That is a great album, starting with the sexy first single, Make My Body Rock. But here is the video for Sparkle.

You can purchase Between The Spirit & The Flesh on iTunes and Amazon.

And finally, a night of dancing isn't complete without a some Jimmy Somerville to shake my groove-thang to. And this year, Jimmy released the Bright Things EP, and I just had to buy it. I mean, I've been buying Jimmy's music since he was with the Bronski Beat 27 years ago, and I've been addicted to that voice since. Jimmy might have turned 50 this year, but he hasn't lost a step with that voice, and just makes me hungry for more from him. Check out Overload, off Bright Things.

You can purchase Bright Things on iTunes and Amazon.

RightOut TV

RightOutTV announced their first winners in the inaugural awards to celebrate the depth and diversity of the music in the LGBT community. The results reflect an impressive array of talent in 13 different categories. Winning artists represent the United States, Israel, Australia, England and Austria, making this a truly global contest. Next I will feature the winner of the Best Dance/Electronic (Pro) Video category.

The Young Professionals The Young Professionals

The award was given to The Young Professionals for the video, D.i.s.c.o. The video was directed by Guy Sagy and was featured on this blog in September. The Young Professionals is a new band featuring Yonathan Goldshtein and the amazing Ivri Lider.

Ivri Lider is an out and proud performer, making brilliant music since releasing his debut album in 1197 in his native Israel. In 2002, he released Bo as part of the soundtrack to the Israeli film Yossi & Jagger, still one of my favorites. You can find out more about the sexy Ivri on his official website here. You can also visit the online home of The Young Professionals here. You can find the album 9:00 to 17:00, 17:00 to Whenever featuring the song D.i.s.c.o. on iTunes here, and on Amazon here. The Young Professionals

The Young Professionals
The Young Professionals The Young Professionals

Break out the credit card and get ready to make a purchase, kids, because the debut album by The Young Professionals, From 9:00 To 17:00 To Whenever is a must have. Like, I-keep-listening-over-and-over-and-still-can't-get-enough good. Like I-hope-they-tour-the-US kind of good. Like Ivri-Lider-will-you-marry-me kind of music. Oh, OK, that is how I feel no matter what, but still. The Young Professionals are Israeli superstar Ivri Lider and top Israeli producer Yonathan Goldshtein, making for a true power-duo. Of course, all you would have to do is check out the video from the song D.I.S.C.O. and you would know just how amazing this all is.

One of the interesting things about the album is the concept, which follows someone from the start of the day on through. With the first song you are waking up, on through to the 14th song, again about waking up, only this tie as a chance for rejuvenation, starting all over again. The title also reminds me a bit of Dolly, as the non-military translation would be 9 to 5. I've listened to all 14 tracks a couple of times now, and I still don't have a favorite - they are all good. Lend and eye and an ear for the video for the song P.O.P.

One of the things I love about this collection is that it seems so very forward in thinking and practice. While there might be an nod to previous eras or times, but the work never seems anything other that forward and bright. You enjoy those videos? Buy the album! To purchase through the online store for The Young Professionals, click here. To purchase the album from iTunes, click here. To purchase from Amazon, click here.
