I am a big fan of the very talented Adam Joseph for a bit now, since I first came across his music video for "Flow With The Soul", his first single. As an out and proud gay man, Adam has never shied away from themes and topics that address his life. His sexy R&B stylings have kept me warm on many a winter night, and made some steamy summer nights a bit cooler. He recently posted a video on YouTube which celebrates moments in recent history that all members of the LGBT community should be proud to witness. Adam Joseph • What's A Lover To Do?

Singer/songwriter Adam Joseph has released a music video for "What's A Lover To Do", the first single off his latest album, 'Love Philosophy'. The song, a smooth and sexy R&B song, is brought to life with the music video, direcredt by both Adam and Josh Kesner, and edited by Skot Video. The video stars singer Joseph, with additional performances from Erickatoure Aviance, Bryan Black, Matt Moss, Wayne Langley, and Mitt Jons. I love the nod to working girls everywhere with this video, and the beautiful turn from Erickatoure Aviance. This is Adam Joseph's "What's A Lover To Do".

The song is just beautiful, and the music video enhances that with a brush that paints some bright highlights, as well as a few dark shadows. I remember several years ago when I first came across the music of Adam Joseph. I happened upon the music video for "Flow With My Soul" on YouTube, and just loved it. I had no option, I had to find out more. I went to iTunes and downloaded "How I Seem To Be", and devoured it with pleasure. It is an excellent album, and kept me on the look out for more from this talented young man. In 2007, I got the delicious "Faggoty Attention", and in 2009 there was the holiday treat, "Taking You Home (For Christmas)". Then, in 2011, he released a cover of "Finally" that was so sexy. And in 2012, he released "Turn Me Out", an driven dance track. But I was still waiting for that new album, watching reports of Adam playing shows in Europe, and contributing to the work of others, like Sir Ari Gold, Lem Springsteen, Alex Kassel, and several others.

But then I saw the announcement that Adam was back in the studio, working on a new album. It is called 'Love Philosophy', and it reminds me of the very reasons I fell in love with Adam and his music those years ago. 'How I Seem To Be' had a sexy and sultry feel, speaking from the heart and more. It started with the first track, "Get It". There is something so sweet and heartening to the song, but there is also the earthier side of the song, making me wanna "get it". With "Let Me", I feel his voice wash over me, at times a whisper, another time a rich call from deep inside. It truly showcases the versatility of Adam's voice. On "What's a Lover To Do?", the first single off the album, is a rich R&B song, and I can't get enough of it. I need to share it with you, so here is Adam Joseph singing "What's A Love to Do?"

As "Cigarettes" starts, I am taken aback by the softness of the song, despite the driving beat. That beat drives home the need, or maybe just some desire we try to keep at bay with other devices, like lighting up that cigarette. The next song, "Fantasy Dismissed", put me on notice right away, with a flirty feel bringing us back to love. And I can't believe I haven't heard this on my radio yet. Once the title track begins, there is a new feel, exotic and dreamy. Soon, a lyrical side of "Love Philosophy" come out, and I felt a whiff of smoke in the air, as a club started to come alive with the sound of featured artist Igmar Thomas and his trumpet taking over the song. There is something about "Vibe with You" that manages to both have a softness, as well as make me move my hips even as I listen now, sitting at my computer. Some imaginary soul is getting a great lap dance, if I do say so myself. From the first bars of "That's Life", here is a wonderful international feel, something interesting and new. There is a wonderful mix of influences I can hear for "Be My Lover", the final track of the album. the track features Carlos Alomar, a guitarist who had worked with many great names, including Ben E. King and David Bowie. When paired with Adam's voice, there is a wonderful soulfulness that is unmistakable, and so delicious I want to nibble on it. In fact, this entire album is a banquet, enticing my taste buds with sounds, textures and layers that make me hungry for more. Free Download • Live Love • Alex Kassel Ft. Adam Joseph

When Adam Joseph announced he had worked on a new single, and it was available for free, I know you didn't have to tell me twice. I jumped at the chance to check out "Live Love", a song by handsome Alex Kassel and featuring the vocals of the talented Mr. Joseph, and I am glad I did. It is a sparkling tribute to love, and a perfect song to take on your summer vacation. "Love Love" is a single off Kassel's album 'Along The Way', and if it is any indication of the quality there, I'd say that is one to look for. Adam, who is still teasing us all with reports that he is working on the follow-up to his amazing first album, 'How I Seem To Be'. I loved that album, and think he sounds even better now, something I didn't think possible. But first, check out one of my summer jams, "Live Love".

It's Friday, We Should Be Dancing!

Clockwise: The Young Professionals; Christopher Dallman; Adam Joseph & DJ Alex Kassel; and Jimmy Somerville.

Tonight's party songs are inspired by the first one, the first live performance of the TYP Band, aka The Young Professionals. The band is made up of Israeli musicians Ivri Lider and Yonathan Goldshtein, and they only recently put out the album of their first collaboration. Ivri Lider is a perennial favorite of mine, and his music has often appeared on this blog. And I have been known to speak of my undying love/lust for Ivri, too. Well, this performance is a mash-up of three songs off the debut, P.O.P, With Me, and Wake Up. This is The Young Professionals and We Should Be Dancing.

Christopher Dallman is another favorite of mine and of the blog. A while ago, he released a song supporting the Marriage Equality movement around the world. Of course, Dallman has a vested interest in the movement, for he not only supports civil rights and equality, he also has a loving marriage with Josh. So hear him sing from the heart on his Anthem, with a Radio Edit by RadBoy.

I know nothing about the band Blue Ray, save they hail Scandinavian in origin, and have a great edit on the track You & Me. Of course, I don't know how you could go wrong with the vocals of Jimmy Somerville, singing his amazing song, sampling the chorus form the great Bronski Beat song Why?. Here is Blue Ray feat. I've been a fan of Adam Joseph's music since the moment I heard the first minute of Flow With Your Soul, and I'd even say my appreciation of his talent has gotten stronger over time. My fingers went straight to iTunes, and before I knew it, How I Seem To Be was a valued part of my collection. And all because of this...



Well it has been far too long since this talented boy had a new album available, but I understood why. He is an independent artist trying to eek out a living, pay his rent, and fall in love, all in the big city of New York, which ain't cheap. And if you want to talk about studio time, well, forget about it! But, it turns out he has the music under control, it is the music videos he needs a hand with. Hey, I'll let Adam talk for himself about it.



So you have the story now. I know I want to have music videos I can put on this blog for you to see, so I clicked on the link, ponied up my money, and think you should too. And remember when I mentioned looking for love? Friday Night Party Mix with Sir Ari Gold

As the birthday boy, I thought it might be fun to feature the dance music of Sir Ari Gold, and maybe some of his friend, Adam Joseph, who will be joining Gold at a show tonight in NYC, which, sadly, I cannot attend. But I can make a show of my own! Never one to shy away from the cutting edge, Ari's video for Where The Music Takes You was completely animated, including a rendition of Ari himself.





Adam Joseph is just adorable, and incredibly gifted. Once I heard Flow With The Soul, I was hooked. I went out and purchased the album, How I Seem To Be, and everything else since. That includes the song and video for the next post, for his brilliant Faggoty Attention.



The fantasy of Ari's version of Human, originally recorded by the Human League, of which I do have a copy in my collection. Gold's take on the song is perfectly displayed in the music video, with a beautiful and mystical, almost other-worldly feel.



Adam Joseph did a remake last year of the great song Finally, originally recorded by Ce Ce Peniston. Adam put his own twist on it, dedicating his version to the battle for Marriage Equality, and it works well.



I also loved Love Will Take Over from the first time I heard it. I love the beat, and think it is great that Ari's vocals move from soft to urgent so nicely.

Happy Birthday, Adam Joseph

I thought I would take a moment this morning to wish a very happy birthday to Adam Joseph, an out artist I have enjoyed for a couple of years now. I first ran across his music by happenstance, hitting on the video for Flow With My Soul, and I was immediately sold. Not only was the boy cute, he could really sing! And he writes his own material. I was impressed, and went out to download his album, How I Seem To Be. All because I caught this amazing video.



Once I listened to the album, I couldn't believe this boy wasn't a bit hit. His soulful stylings were just amazing, so silky smooth. When I listened to You're Mine, I thought the sound was so sweet yet sexy, but when I saw the video, just Wow!



Now, the next video I saw was on the release of a new song, Faggotty Attention. Yep, that title made me go "hmmmm" too. Yet it was only a matter of getting through part of the video that made me sit up, take notice, and go to iTunes to buy the song! A song that can make me dance, make me smile, and make me think, all in one? That is a total score.



Just over a year ago, Adam released a song in support of the Marriage Equality movement in New York. He covered an old song some of us remember from the good old days, and others might remember from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Adam took Finally, shook it up a bit and came out with a new spin on the song, making it all kinds of new and special. And there was a video, and it was very special.

Been a little crazy around the farm, so I thought I would just toss together a couple of videos from a variety of artist and try to have a good time. And I am going to start off with Adam Joseph. I've run some of his videos before, but not this one. Until now. This is You're Mine, and if this doesn't get you in the mood, I don't know what will. New Video - Adam Joseph - Finally

The fabulous Adam Joseph has released a new song and video and I am excited. I have been a fan since the release of his fantastic How I Seem To Be a couple years ago. His Flow With Your Soul is amazing (see it here), as are many other songs. So he posted a video on YouTube of Finally, the old CeCe Peniston disco hit that was also featured in Priscilla Queen of the Desert.



So nice to see a young gay man coming out and making a statement about marriage equality. Not that Adam has ever stepped away from taking a bold step, as he did with the song and video of Faggotty Attention [which can been seen in the previous link]. He is also an amazing singer, as you can tell on the song You're Mine, from his first album.

Great Music - Adam Joseph - How I Seem To Be

Adam Joseph is another of those MySpace finds I made - damn, I think I might spend too much time online. The first song I heard was Flow With My Soul, and while I am not a huge R&B/HipHop fan, this pulled me in. Yes, I bet no one is surprised I am a Pop/Folk/Rock guy, just from what I have covered so far. But I really like the music of Adam Joseph. But this song really got my attention, and the solid melody and strong vocals sold me. I went out and immediately purchased How I Seem To Be.



The CD also had You're Mine, and 2 Brothers, both very romantic R & B ballads. His voice and styling is so smooth, so heartfelt, just lovely.



However, he is not always so sweet and endearing. Adam did some work with comedian/singer Jonny McGovern of LOGO's Big Gay Sketch Show and the romping, stomping Soccer Practice. And there is Faggoty Attention, a ribald and naughty little number about picking up some str8 trade and making it all work out - 'You can get rough. Boy, I ain't a girl - I can take it like a man.' This video might not be all that safe for the office. LOL
