Matt Doyle • Constant Preview

Picture 4 Picture 6

Matt Doyle had released a preview of his upcoming EP, Constant. Matt released his first EP, Daylight, last year, and I loved it. You can find my review here. This clip previews six tracks, all written by Doyle and Will Van Dyke. I really love the clean tone, and how Matt can put a little "blues" i it when he wants to.

Constant will be available on June 12, 2012. For more about Matt Doyle, visit his official website. You can also find him on Facebook and Twitter.

Jeffrey & Tom • Under The Covers Preview

Photobucket
Photobucket Photobucket

I recently had the pleasure of going to see Tom Goss performing live in Washington, DC, alongside DC performer Jeffrey Johnson in a show called Under The Covers. The show was serving a couple of purposes: Tom and Jeffrey have been talking about doing a show together for some time, and Tom had a chance to preview his latest video, It's All Over, to those near and dear to him. And, well, any time you get to see Tom Goss perform is a good day, at least in my book! So here is my preview of the show. Seeing this, I bet you wish you were there!

I hope to have complete videos and pictures up on the blog soon. The show is focusing on something Tom rarely does at live shows, sing cover songs. His catalog of fantastic original songs is big enough that with each show, there are still some of his songs I don't get to hear, and can only hope to catch next time. But this time out, there were just a couple of his songs, mainly songs by some of his favorite artists, as well as some great songs performed by Jeffrey Johnson, who had some charming and unexpected offerings. For more about the artists, you can find Tom Goss on the web here, and Jeffrey Johnson on the web here.

New Video Preview From Darren Hayes

Darren Hayes Talk Talk Talk Preview

Darren Hayes released a kaleidoscopic preview of the video for his soon-to-be-released sing, Talk Talk Talk off his highly anticipated album due out this fall. Hayes tore up the 90s as frontman for the supergroup Savage Garden. They had the world-dominating hits I Want You, To the Moon and Back, Truly Madly Deeply, Affirmation, I Knew I Loved You, and The Animal Song. In 2001 he embarked on a solo career, and has released three albums to date. My favorite is still 2004's The Tension & The Spark, a crisp and sexy album just beautifully written. The song Dublin Sky is just amazing. So, I can't wait to hear what the new one will offer. Like the the single, Talk Talk Talk.

The single, Talk Talk Talk, is set for international release next week on June 24. I know I'll be checking iTunes from midnight on to see when I can buy it!

Top: The Boys of Glee.

Get ready for a new episode of GLEE tonight, and some spoilers this afternoon! A Night Of Neglect is sure to have some great music, and hopefully some fantastic story as well. Check out some spoilers I found online.

And here is a bit of a preview, featuring the return of Charice!

I have no idea if there will be shirtless boys on tonight's episode or not, but thought I would do a collage just because I can. And I did. And it made me happy.

How Just Are Just Desserts?

Photobucket
Yigit

I have been watching BravoTv's Just Desserts, mainly because of my love for Top Chef, and my admiration for Gail Simmons. Little by little, the show has been losing my interest, save for the completely adorable Yigit. The majority of the cast has veered between annoying to uninteresting. Gail has been allowed to fade away, while the overly-coifed Johnny Iuzzini seems to hog more and more of the screen. In this last episode, I was also shocked by something said by a competitor on the show that went unaddressed. I have been contemplating writing the show off, but when I saw the preview for the final episode, I couldn't help to be both intrigued, with shots of Yigit shirtless, and offended, as Morgan's remarks were not only repeated, but he added to the legacy.

I'll cop to the fact I haven't been a fan of Morgan for some time, as I just find his testosterone-laden personality rather gross. But the fact he managed to compare contestant Zac to a screaming little girl, and go on to call him a fairy without so much as a correction from Bravo or from hosts Gail or Johnny, well, makes me loose respect for the network and the participants. At a time when bullying from characters like Morgan is being discussed worldwide, it seems to me it is so very disappointing Bravo is allowing this to not only get out, but be part of the promotion. If I were chatting with Andy Cohen, I would have to make this a 'Jackhole' moment, at least for me. But a big 'Mazel' for the shirtless moments with the adorable Yigit. Whether or not it is enough to tempt me to watch the final is another matter altogether.

Live Music - Aiden James Preview

This weekend I had a double shot of Aiden James, singer/songwriter extraordinaire, and had a great time. The first night I saw him at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was fantastic as ever, in perfect voice and showcased a couple of new songs, as well as songs on his recent albums. I also caught him at Burlap And Bean Coffee in Newtown Square, PA, on Saturday night. Again he amazing, and I could listen to that boy sing any night of the week. At the Burlap and Bean, I managed to overcome my obvious technological deficiencies and tape a few songs, on of which is Just For A Second, a song featured on the album Live At Tin Angel. Please forgive some silliness at the beginning as I was trying to figure out these fancy moving pictures...

More on the shows to come.

GLEE TV - Mattress Preview

There are only two episodes left before GLEE takes a bit of a break, tonight and next week. Tonight's episode, Mattress, promises to bring the excitement and drama, as well as the usual music and joy. Here is the preview.

So, according to IMDB, this is what happens: When the Glee Club is left out of the yearbook because of budget cuts, everyone seems to be relieved that they won’t have to suffer the ridicule of years past. Everyone except Rachel, that is, who wants her legacy cemented in print. Meanwhile, Quinn makes it her mission to be in the Cheerios yearbook photo, and Will and Terri’s relationship is shaken to its core.

One of the songs from the episode is Lily Allen's Smile, a duet with Rachel and Finn. You can purchase it on iTunes here.

To catch any episodes you've missed, you can find them online for FREE at Fox On Demand here or on Hulu here. For videos from the show, and links to the songs, click to Rickey.Org here after the show and he will have a recap and the links.

GLEE TV - Preview 2 - Mash-Up

Thanks to my friend Rickey, here is another clip from the upcoming episode of GLEE. Click here to visit rickey.org to see it. In it, Puck sings Sweet Caroline to someone - is it to Rachel? Does Finn have more competition?

Also, Entertainment Weekly has released some plot outlines for upcoming episodes. Click here for the original post.

Episode 8 “Mash-up” (Oct. 21)
Description: Inspired the by the students, Will composes a mash-up for a very special occasion. Meanwhile, in a shocking reversal of roles, McKinley High’s cool kids are dethroned in an “icy” fashion, and Sue shows off her softer side. (And we can also reveal we get to meet Puck’s mom in this episode. Songs will include “Bust a Move,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Thong Song” and “I Could Have Danced All Night.” Julie Andrews and Sisqo in the same episode, be still my heart…)

Episode 9 “Wheels” (Nov. 11)
Will encourages the Glee Club to support Artie, and asks each of them to perform in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Kurt and Rachel compete for a big solo. Songs include “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.

Episode 10 “Ballads” (Nov. 18)
Mr. Schuester has the Glee Club split up into pairs to sing their favorite ballad, but when one kid gets sick, he’s forced to step in and winds up in a sticky situation. Meanwhile, Finn has dinner with Quinn’s parents.

Episode 11, “Hairography” (Nov. 25)
Eve guest-stars as a rival glee club’s instructor in another all-new episode. The Glee Club checks out their hair-raising competition, and Kurt gives Rachel a makeover.

Meanwhile, episode 12 will be called “Once, Upon A Mattress” and episode 13 will be “Sectionals” (whaaaaat? We have to wait that long for sectionals?!?! It already feels like they’ve been practicing and talking about it for months).

So much GLEE-TV to look forward to!
