Being Human Season 2 Episode 5

being human,season 2,episode 5,bbc america

Tonight at 9PM/8PM Central on BBC America, Being Human returns with a new episode. This one really gives us some insight into Mitchell. 1969 - kinda like the hangover from the summer of love, at least for Mitchell. He wakes up blood-soaked, not even sure where he is. He wakes to the sounds of The Velvet underground featuring Nico singing Venus in Furs from their 1967 debut album.

He panicks when he hears a noise in another room, only to figure out it is Herrick, who leaves to pick up the car, while Mitchell must clear the scene of any evidence of the debauchery that has taken place. He cleans to the sounds of Herman's Hermits 1964 hit Something Good.

When he goes to leave, he sees the police interviewing the building, and slips into an apartment, taking the pretty young woman by surprise. When we cut back to the present day, the house is invaded by the police, who take Mitchell away, surprising his mystified flatmates.

Mitchell is taken to the police headquarters, where he meets with the current chief. He brings Mitchell the cell of a recidivist prisoner, one he would like Mitchell to take out, while he watches. Mitchell is less than impressed, and leaves. When he gets home, he finds George and Annie chatting, George speaking of his girlfriend Sam and their growing relationship. Mitchell mentions his relationship with Lucy. The boys leave, and there is an eye calling to Annie, a fellow ghost. Seems she wants Annie to babysit her child, also a ghost. Annie reluctantly agrees, but for only a few hours. We return to 1969, with Mitchell telling his prisoner way more than he should, obviously struggling with what his vampire life leads him to do.

In perhaps the scariest scene of the show, Mitchell runs in to Lucy outside the hospital, and something is definitely wrong. He can't stop smiling, and it is so very eerie. I mean, could dinner with Lucy cause a dark and brooding vampire to change this much? We hope not, because Lucy leaves Mitchell to chat with the evil religious zealot, and they obviously have plans afoot. Back at the flat, Annie is struggling with her ghostly charge, but George steps in to help her quiet him. They discuss their lives, and George's desire to have kids of his own.

In 1969, Mitchell's prisoner escapes, and retrieves a policeman to aide her cause. Unfortunately, it is Herrick, who seems to have discovered his fascination with uniforms. George meets Sam and her daughter at the schoolyard, trying his best to win over the daughter. Annie discovers the secret to watching the baby, and starts to really like having him around.

George starts talking to his flatmates about his plans, which include moving Sam and her daughter in with the vampire and ghost. Annie understands the desire to form a family - she'd like to adopt 'little Tim', but Mitchell will have none of it. He thinks George is rushing things, and it is a bad idea. And thinks Annie is going mad. He and George exchange words, and George decides he might have to move on. Will Annie keep Tim, or will his Mother return? Will George, Sam and Molly live happily ever after? Will the Constable leave Mitchell alone or did he just push too hard? Did Herrick make his kill his hostage? And who is making love to the sound of Jefferson Airplane's Somebody To Love?

Being Human Season 2 Episode 4

being human,season 2,episode 4,bbc america
Left to right: Aidan Turner, Russell Tovey & Lenora Crichlow

Tonight at 9PM/8PM Central on BBC America, the latest episode of Being Human keeps me on the edge of my seat. With each episode, I love this show even more. In the last episode, we saw Mitchell taking charge of the vampire community, leading the movement for cleaner living. We also see George get a phone call from Nina, who said she loved him but needed to move on, to make a change in her life. Annie, well, she is trying to get her confidence back.

The episode opens with Lucy working in the lab, when an elderly gentleman talks to her about evil, the very nature of it. He wants to work with her. Annie taking a walk with an unaware postman, when the Police arrive nearby, she goes to check it out, only to be dragged toward the door and out of the world. At the last minute, she is pulled to safety by another ghost! Sykes has powers of his own, and Annie wants to learn them.

George, in an effort to move on from Nina, starts making lists about his life, including buying a cage to contain the wolf. He also wants to get a job, and feels he is way too intelligent to be in the orderly job in the hospital. Mitchell isn't entirely impressed with his thoughts.

Mitchell calls a meeting, and afterward has a heart-to-heart with Ivan about the future of the vampire colony. He wants to bring Ivan on board, to get off the blood habit. Back in the hospital, Mitchell meets up with Lucy, trying to renew their flirtation. Then he runs into George, who tells him it is his last day, as he will be leaving to be a language teacher.

We see Nina in the chamber, the same one we saw a werewolf perish in an earlier episode. Lucy seems to have a difference with her cohorts, trying to stop them from destroying Nina. We also see George in his cage, self-medicating to keep the wolf at bay. We go from seeing the wolf in a cage to a wolf in a chamber.

The next morning, an ecstatic George shares the video of a sleeping wolf with his flatmate. Then it is time for him to go off to teach his 'English As A Second Language' class, which has a few interesting twists and turns, for which he is called on the carpet. Then we see the 12-Step meeting for recovering blood addicts, i.e. vampires, with Ivan taking a stand. But what will happen in the rest of the episode? Will Nina survive the testing? If she does, will they use her to coax George to the lab? Will Sykes teach Annie to read auras, read minds, and to close the door on her own? Will she pass the final test? Can Ivan stay strong, and remain blood-free after almost 200 years of drinking? Will George have a new love interest at work? Are there repercussions to keeping the wolf in the cage? Can he keep the new job? Tune in to BBC America tonight to find out! You can find out more about Being Human online at their official website here.

Being Human - Season 2 Episode 3

Tonight on BBC America at 9PM/8PM Central, the new episode of Being Human hits the air. The show opens in 1665 in Bristol, showing the showing what could be considered a precursor to the Salem witch trials, as a religious man explains several men, women and children have been found guild of practicing the supernatural, and shall be put to death in unsavory ways. It then cuts back to today's Bristol, and a woman jogging through the park happens upon a bloody scene, with two victims. One is rushed to the hospital, and Mitchell sees the telltale signs of his brethren involved.

Back in the house, Annie wakes up George, who is still in a definite funk since Nina left him. Annie is having her own issues, having become invisible once again. She also wants George's help with Mitchell, who isn't pulling his weight around the house, and with Hugh, who she feels is still mooning for her. She wants to find his ex and get them back together. While this is going on, Mitchell meets with the chief constable, trying to cover up the killing by vampires, which was Herrick's job, at least before George killed him.

Mitchell gathers the vampires together to get them to stop the killings at least until he takes care of the constable and the coroner. He fears the vampires could be discovered, and hunted down by the humans. Daisy is there, and breeds some dissension in the rank and file. Annie calls a house meeting, and when Mitchell returns, he and George immediately bond in that male-refusal-to-talk-about-the-issues-at-hand way, until both melt down over a change in the TV schedule. Next we see the killings are, ni fact, not stopping. And Annie goes unseen with George to chat with Hugh, and more male bonding occurs, much to Annie's bewilderment.

Annie finds Hugh's ex and makes George speak to her. Annie discovers the florist is lonely, and sets up a plan to get her back with Hugh. Mitchell meets with the coroner, but that meeting does not go well. He no longer wants to participate in the cover up.

Will Mitchell be able to organize things, or will there be another witch hunt? Will Annie convince George to take part in her matchmaking plan? Will George continue to moon for Nina? Will the other vampires listen to Mitchell or will they lead him astray? Guess you will have to tune in to find out. You can find out more about Being Human online at their official website here. Doctor Who Series 5 Premiere

Tonight, Saturday, April 17, the Doctor Who franchise returns to BBC America for the fifth series, with the Doctor having gone through regeneration, and now being played by the sparkling Matt Smith. He is the youngest actor to have played the role. I'll tell you the truth, I wasn't sure how I was going to react, as I do love my Doctor Who [yes, let the geek jokes fall where they may] and it took me a bit to warm to David Tennant, as I was quite smitten with Christopher Eccleston. However, after watching the first episode, The Eleventh Hour, I think I am going to like Matt's Doctor very much. I really enjoyed his frenetic energy, and the quirkiness he brings.

In the first episode, we not only meet the new Doctor, but also his companion, Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan. I think I will like her as well, as she is a combination of Rose and Donna, and should make a great counterpart for the Doctor. The first episode opens with the Doctor careening in the TARDIS, trying to finish his own regeneration. He meets up with a young girl, Amelia, whom he leaves for 5 minutes, only to return late and have trouble finding her. As he solves the problem of escaped prisoner Zero.

The scripts are still clever, and the effects seem even better. A funny moment was when the Doctor reminds Amy her is indeed 'a madman with a box.' There is another alien race on the trail of prisoner Zero, even as the Doctor looks for Amelia. While the TARDIS is upgrades and repairs itself, the Doctor is forced to handle the crisis on his feet, including driving a fire engine and commandeering a laptop owned by a strapping young lad. With a premiere this good, I cannot for episodes to come. Speaking of which, here is a trailer for action to come.

The premier of Doctor Who is on BBC America at 9PM,8PM Central time.In the episode, we not only get to check out the latest in sonic screwdrivers, we also get an up-close-and-personal look at the Doctor's eye and chest!
