Award winning recording artist Brian Kent has released his latest single, Su-Su-Superstar, now available on iTunes. The song celebrates what is unique and special about us all, and what makes life amazing. You can purchase it several different ways, as you can buy any single/remix you'd like, as well as Part 1, a 4-track collection featuring the radio edits, and Part 2, an 8-track remix collection with some great remixes from the US and the UK. Christopher Dallman has a beautiful and touching video for his introspective song, Ghosts. When the video first came out, this blog's resident str8 hunk, Chad Cavanaugh, couldn't get enough of it, and I gotta agree, cause months later, I still can't hear it enough. So here is Ghosts, from the amazing EP, Never Was.



Sexy, sultry, and in your face, Dangerous Muse's I Want It All has a youthful vigor that is exhilarating and intoxicating. These boys are rumored to be putting together a new album, and I hope they hurray!



Man, I love the music Sacha Sacket makes. I just can't help it, I do. And I don't want to help it, I want to feed the addiction, and listen to every last bit I can, including when I watch the video for Running Away. Of course, it never hurts when the artist is so damn easy on the eyes, you know?



If being cute isn't enough to earn a vote, how about being talented. Josh Zuckerman has managed to growl at me on more than one album, cause I find myself unable to say know to the rocker. At least when it comes to his music. Check out his latest video on the LOGO countdown, Fall In Love Again.



And while I suspect his fans will be clicking away for him, I couldn't go without sharing the video Icelandic cutie Jónsi has for the song Animal Arithmetic off his latest album, Go.



David Raleigh, Sir Ari Gold, Billy Porter, and Alan Cumming remake the classic song That's What Friends Are For, and once again, the money is not going to the artist, but instead to a very worthy cause, to support of the Ali Forney Center, a NYC shelter for homeless GLBT youth. Gold also has a solo effort, Make My Body Rock, which I have recently featured.

SIRPAUL World Premier On LOGO

On Thursday night/Friday morning, SIRPAUL's Music And Me had a world television premiere on LOGO's NewNowNext Pop Lab. Regular readers might remember the video from the sneak peak we had a bit ago. SIRPAUL is a blog favorite, and I have loved his music for some time. I knew it was love after hearing Addicted from the Dismantle album. It has been an affair that has withstood the test of time. Here is the video, directed by Adam Sauermilch.



I went to NYC to the CD Release Party/Concert over the summer, with my blogger/friend Rickey Yaneza and my niece, Mandy. We had a great time, up and dancing in the aisles like the rest of the standing-room-only audience. To finish out the Music And Me experience, a behind the scenes look at the making of the video is available online, and I just happen to have it lined up for you to watch.

Welcome Back RuPaul's Drag Race

Tonight at 9PM EST on LOGO, RuPaul's Drag Race returns to television with season two of the reality program. I have a fondness for the show, on many levels. For one thing, how can anyone have anything but love for RuPaul? And then there is the fading memory I have that gives me a tie to the show.

Way back when, in the late 80s, I was working in New York City. I had given up working in the theater because I had bills to pay, and that wasn't getting done. I started working with a sound designer I had known, doing corporate gigs as a line producer or whatever was needed. We often worked with Public Relations firms in the city, and at one of those firms I met a young and handsome guy named Randy Barbato. While working on one of the many unmemorable projects I had at that point, I remember Randy and his talking about needing to leave a bit early to go catch a client of his, a drag queen, at an event downtown - I don't know, it might have been Wigstock or something. He would invite some of us to go, but we always seem to be working. Well, I kinda had a crush on Randy, but found out he had a boyfriend, so I just moved on, and really thought he was a great guy. He didn't want to be doing PR, he wanted to direct movies, and we would talk about it. Soon, the project was over, and I we really never worked together again. A few years later, I purchased RuPaul's Supermodel of the World, and I read Randy Barbato listed as one of the Producers. I thought the name rang a bell, and then I remembered sweet, pretty Randy. He has done much since, but has been with RuPaul for a very long time. That is my big connection with the show - a little tenuous, I know, but mine.




Anyway, to welcome RuPaul and company back, I thought I would revisit some of Ru's music videos, which are certainly worth another visit. In 1992, she had her first hit on the charts when Supermodel (You'd Better Work) moved up the Club Play chart to #2 and #45 on the Pop chart.



The 1996 release Foxy Lady also had a hit song, Snapshot. It was #4 on the Club chart, and in the Top 100 on the Pop chart.



In 2004, there was Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous from the Red Hot album. It secured the #2 spot on the Club chart.



In 2006 RuPaul released a cover of the Depeche Mode song People Are People, from the soundtrack of the movie Zombie Prom

News - Tom Goss on LOGO and On Tour

For the third consecutive week, Tom Goss is #1 on LOGO, the video for Till The End topping their chart. He is also back on the road, touring to support the album Back To Love. I hope to be at the show in Philly, so maybe I'll see you there!

Tom Goss Tops LOGO Click List

One of my favorite artists, Tom Goss, topped the LOGO Click List this past week with his simply wonderful song, Till The End. The Click List is an online voting contest and TV show that plays the 'Top 10' each week. There is a list of over 100 videos, of both LGBT and LGBT-friendly artists and this videos. You can view the videos and vote for them. I tend to vote for the LGBT artists, because I am annoyed enough with LOGO's tendency to play str8 label artists over independent gay artists - they are part of MTV, after all. We should be amazed music videos are playing at all.



But to the matter at hand, Tom's video is directed by another out man, J Aron Hinson. Aron was a college student and fan of Tom, finishing his education with a project, the music video for the great song, Rise. It also found the way to the top of the Click List, so it should come as no surprise the talented team scored another #1.

New Music - Billy Dortch

So I was watching LOGO's NewNextNow PopLab, and in between lame videos for Mariah Carey and Michelle Williams, I saw one I needed to check out. It was Billy Dortch and the song was Breathe. Now, I had never heard of Billy Dortch before, and had to look around the internet for information. Sadly, I found damn little about him. I would like to know more, but I am funny that way.





First, let me point out the obvious, he is devishly goodlooking. One site I found was his modeling webpage, which makes sense. Boy's gotta pay the rent 'til the music thing takes off. And there is a MySpace page, which offers some lovely photos [see above] and the video. Not too much information otherwise. I also found a couple of articles, and they were helpful for my anal-retentive issues. Billy is 25, and a native of Sacramento, California, and moved to Los Angeles in 2006. And yes, he is an out gay man. It was in LA he really found his voice as a singer/songwriter, and made his first demo last year. He has two singles on iTunes [I bought them both], Breathe and Goodbye, Goodbye.



I am liking what I hear, and think there is some growing that will be happening over the next few years - his phrasing can get a little lazy and stilted - but he has a nice emotional grip on the material. Breathe is the better of the two singles, but I like them both.
