Baby, It's Cold Outside • Chris Salvatore & Mister Chase

Two young, handsome and talented singers joined forces to reveal the true meaning of the holiday, giving. Mister Chase and Chris Salvatore recorded and made a video for Baby, It's Cold Outside, written by by Frank Loesser in 1944. He wrote it as a fun duet to sing with his wife, not really intended as a Christmas song. Over the years, it has been covered by some of the greats in the music industry, and has become a Christmas standard.

You can purchase Baby, It's Cold Outside on iTunes here. All proceeds will go to organizations to help our youth in need. Programs such as Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention, as well as furthering equal rights for the LGBT community.

Mister Chase recently released the single Addicted. He has also made sign language videos interpretting some of the big artists of the day, from Britney Spears to Lady GaGa to Nicki Minaj. Check out the video for Addicted.

I am also a fan of Chris Salvatore. There is more to this man than just his striking good looks. As well as being a singer/songwriter, Salvatore is a musician and actor, featured in leads roles in two of the latest Eating Out movies. You can catch him here in on of his own music videos, for Dirty Love.

You can find the Dirty Love EP on iTunes here, and on Amazon here. He also released The Sound Of This Beat last year, which you can find on iTunes here, and on Amazon here. You can find Chris on Twitter here.

What's Your Addiction?

sirpaul Photobucket
Wow
Addiction specialists SIRPAUL, Anthony Callea & Ace Young.

I have been feeling just all kinds of funny lately, and it is affecting me in ways I didn't imagine. You see, after just over 32 years of smoking, I have stopped. When I was sick several weeks ago, I couldn't smoke for a few days. Well, I just decided that seemed like a good plan, and kept it going. So it has been over 5 weeks now, and I will fully admit it has not been the easiest thing I have done in my life. And, I have to say, it seems just as tough now, in a different way, than it did when this all began. I was thinking by week 6, I would not be looking up from typing on my computer, looking to grab a cigarette.

To aid in all this, I purchased a new iPad. I figure it like this: I spent a certain about each week on cigarettes, and applied that money to buying the new electronics. So, I need to go a couple of months to break even, and have the iPad paid for. And, hopefully, some of the addiction will be subsiding.

But it does give me the opportunity to feature three songs I really love, all with "addicted" in the title. I will start with a favorite, SIRPAUL's Addicted. So sexy, so smoky, so delicious.

Another favorite of mine is the good-looking man with the voice of an angel, Anthony Callea. Since I first caught a video of him singing The Prayer on YouTube, I have been hopelessly addicted to his music. I got the CDs, and got the DVD. I would love to hear this talented Aussie sing live, but fear literally traveling to the other side of the world might be a little much. This is Anthony Callea's Addicted To You

As we approach the 10th season of American Idol, I can think back to the handsome young man who grabbed my eye, Ace YOung. Young has certainly been working hard during his career, with stints on Broadway in lead roles in Grease and Hair. And, every year, he is one of the cohosts for the Muscular Dystrophy telethon over Labor Day weekend. He also released a self-titled album, with is pretty damn good. On that album, his first single was the sexy Addicted.

So, one of the side effects of the detox I am going through it a problem with focus or concentration. I find myself staring at the computer screen, not sure what I am going to write, or even what I shall write about. Hopefully, this too shall pass soon. There is some great new music on the horizon, and I hope to be telling you all about it!

SIRPAUL - Addicted

SIRPAUL
SIRPAUL

I've been a fan of SIRPAUL for a couple of years, having come across his music and loving it. The music is as varied as the looks SIRPAUL has sported over the years, and he has yet to hit a bad note or a bad haircut. I am going to see him on June 26th at a live show in New York, and I can't wait. For the longest time, Addicted was my favorite SIRPAUL song, and it still might be. Only it changes from time to time; sometimes it might be Do U, other times is is Music & Me from the new album. But, I will say listening to his Dismantle album was practically a profession for me a few years ago. Here is Addicted.

SIRPAUL - The Video Party

SIRPAUL

To accompany the interview, I thought I would offer up the videos as well. With the following six videos, you could easily throw a party, so I would suggest you turn your volume up, hit full screen, and get ready to dance and move around.

Thrust is the first on the list, and I must say if you are at work, this is perhaps NSFW [Not Safe For Work], but is a great video for a wonderful, fun song. Sexy and sultry, with the imagery to match. I have to face it, SIRPAUL is very hot, and does not shy away from the inherent sexuality in the music.

Addicted was the song that was my introduction to SIRPAUL, and perhaps because of this remains my favorite. Dark and sensual, with a certain brooding quality I love, the song works for me. For the video, there is an interesting blend of video with a Super 8/home movie quality that is just visually arresting. Then again, he had me the minute I heard the song.

Do U rocks it out a bit more, and that driving beat can make me dance, either in my chair on get me on my feet and just let go. For the video, the blend of multiple images and the use of the mirror imaging and the pace of the editing just works so well with the song.

Objectified is part Sy-Fy [making the geek in me giddy], part light show, the video is just throbbing with beat and drive. Think Tron and Matrix meet, well, SIRPAUL.

Swinger is another great video, with an interesting story as well. The club-feel is sexually charged, but aside from a quick shot of a partial moon, there is more sensuality than sexuality involved. However, it seems it was turned away by the video stations, claiming it to be too explicit, yet I have seen much worse - in terms of sex as well as violence - on LOGO and VH1 and even MTV, back in the day when music was involved as something other than theme music. I'd hate to say what I think the issues was, especially for LOGO, which purports to be an LGBT outlet, when in truth, they support more Diva's than actual LGBT acts, but that is a rant for another post, as it is my thoughts, certainly not those of SIRPAUL.

Killer is the latest from SIRPAUL, and it lends some amazing visuals to intrigue me even more. Bold and brash, it is at times like a feast for the eyes.

SIRPAUL will release his latest recording, Music And Me, to iTunes on June 1, 2010. Look for the review are that time. But just a hint - SIRPAUL shared it with me already, and I love it!

Str8 Boys Need Love Too - Ace Young

Photos by me from Binghamton, NY, Washington DC & Uncasville, CT

My appreciation of Ace Young has been documented by my driving 6 hours to catch him performing live, seeing him a couple of times playing Kenickie in Grease on Broadway last fall/winter. It was about a year ago Ace released his first self-titled CD, with a release party at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. It was produced by Desmond Child, the musical genius. It is a pretty good freshman offering, but established no traction with resistance from radio to play non-studio songs. There were some select combo CD/DVDs for sale, with the first video and some behind-the-scenes footage. That footage included scenes of a shirtless Ace working out to get ready for a shirtless photoshoot. That alone could be worth the price of admission.

Well, the fanworld of Mr. Young was thrown in a tizzy recently when he announced his engagement to Allison Fischer, whom he met during the stint in Grease. I wish them the best of luck, and hope we get to see and hear much more from the both of them. Until then, this is the video for Addicted from his eponymous CD. It is a song I still love.

You can listen to more of Ace's music on his MySpace, buy the CD from iTunes and most other retail and online stores, but I think the CD/DVD package can only be purchased in Target.
