Easter Morn with Jason & deMarco

For this Easter Sunday, I thought it might be nice to bring in the beautiful Jason & deMarco to offer a little worship music for this day. They are a beautiful couple, now the proud parents of twins. They both once had up and coming careers in the Christian Music market, and have gone on the make albums of by secular and worship music. Their voices make such amazing harmonics together, I can't hear them enough. Here they sing Be The Light, perfect for Easter morning.

Once Jason & deMarco found one another, and came to terms with their feelings, the music community of which they were a part were no longer exceedingly welcoming of the duo. However, that never stopped their own strong faith, and, at least in some ways, reassured them. They continue to play shows in Churches where they are welcome, and hope to spread the word. Honestly, I simply love to hear them harmonize - is is a joy to behold. Here they sing Stronger Than.

The beautiful song It Is Well With My Soul was written in over 120 years ago, in the 1870s. Following a series of tragedy that befell Horatio Spafford, he wrote the lyrics to the song. The music was composed by Philip Bliss. Listen while Jason & deMarco lift their voices on the lovely traditional hymn, It Is Well With My Soul.

For more about Jason & deMarco, visit their official website. You can find their worship album, Songs For The Spirit, on iTunes and Amazon. You can find their most recent secular album, Safe, on iTunes.

Jason & deMarco Kickstarter

Jason & deMarco
Jason & deMarco

The always adorable couple of Jason & deMarco are making a new album featuring live recordings of some of their favorite and most soulful spiritual songs, something to look forward to. But like many who are putting out their own music, they could use a little helping hand to make that music available. Not to worry, they aren't asking for a donation, you will be getting your choice of many things in return. I'll let deMarco explain it to you.

You might remember Jason & deMarco from earlier posts, where I played songs like their wonderful This Is Love.

So, with choices as varied as autographed CDs to singing phone calls to dinner with the boys to a live show in your living room, all you have to do is click through to Kickstarter. Check them out here. You can also check them out on their official website here.

Jason & deMarco Are Safe

Jason and deMarco - Safe

Jason and deMarco have had an exciting last fwe months, what with working on the new video for the title cut from their 2008 album, Safe. If that were not enough, the adorable couple also welcomed home their newborn twins, so I can only imagine sleep is a rarity in their house! It is a beautiful and thoughtful video, so I thought I would share it on this Sunday morning.

For more about Jason & deMarco, you can visit their official website here. The album Safe is available on iTunes, BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, or via their online store. You can also find other posts about the boys here, here, here and here. You can also find them on FaceBook here, and on Twitter here.

We're All Angels - Jason & deMarco

jason and demarco,we're all angels
Pictured: Jason left, and deMarco right.

Tomorrow night, LOGO TV will be premiering We're All Angels, a documentary following the singers Jason & deMarco. They are a couple, out and proud, as well as men with strong spiritual beliefs. They are also cute as buttons, and much of their music pop confections that are irresistible to me. I hope Jason doesn't mind, but I have a bit of a crush on deMarco, and have for some time now. Indeed, I am a fan of the music, and have albums in my collection, including Safe, which I think is wonderful. But first, here is a peak at We're All Angels.

The 2008 album Safe was a bit of a departure for them, utilizing from different instrumentation and rhythms, venturing away from some of the classic pop stylings to a more stripped down pop feel. Their second album, Till The End Of Time, was released in 2006. It included This Is Love, a beautiful song sung so well by two men in love. It just warms my heart to even hear it, let alone see there cherubic faces.

In 2004, the duo released their first foray into secular pop music, called Spirit Pop. By this time, they had been shunned by some, but not all, of the Christian music community of which they were once a part. Their faith, which was an important part for both, was to be a part of their lives whether that worked for others or not. But another part, the strong love they felt for one another, would not be denied either. For that, I give them much credit. All I Long For is a song from that first album.

Released as part of the Safe album, It's Okay is also a theme of sorts to We're All Angels. The following is a video recorded by a fan of Jason and deMarco singing at a personal appearance.

So, tomorrow night I will be watching LOGO when this airs, just charmed by the pair of lovers. I am such a sucker like that. For more on Jason & deMarco, check out their website here. They are yet another act I would love to catch live, and hope to do so. Even if I just get the chance to stare at that cutie, deMarco.

Sunday Worship - Just In Time

Jason Warner, left, and deMarco DiCiccio, right.

Jason & deMarco are favorites of mine, and are the first to make multiple appearances in the Sunday Worship posts. This selection was taped at the Joy Metropolitan Community Church in Orlando, Florida, in 2007. Jason and deMarco are adorable and talented boys, and I have all their secular releases. I have yet to see them perform live, but hope to at some point. Anyway, they are a couple, and found one another while performing in the Christian music area. They perform both secular and Christian songs, and are proof that being gay does not automatically prevent people from living good Christian lives.

To discover more music and information about Jason & deMarco, see their website here or their Angel fan club here.

Not only are they precious as anything, a couple that is young and in love, Jason & deMarco are Christian boys who firmly hold to their beliefs. So this Sunday morning I offer you Jason & deMarco singing Be The Light at Wallingford United Methodist Church in Seattle.

Also, here is deMarco of J&D singing Ave Maria at the Kansas City MCC Spirit of Hope Church earlier this summer.

Great Music - Jason & deMarco

Jason (the blond) & deMarco (dark curly hair)

Jason & deMarco are about as precious as you can get. And I mean that in a nice way. They are out singers, who started out in the Christian music scene that was not particularly welcoming to their gayness. They have made the move to a secular sound and style, both maintain a strong Christian faith, having no problem reconciling it with their relationship. They sing pure pop, something I can truly enjoy.

Together they have put out a couple of CDs, and play several Pride Fests each year. They tour to support their music, and have appeared in the documentary We're All Angels. Their latest CD, Safe, shows real growth as artists, playing more with rhythms and harmonies than before. They cover the U2 song One, with a nice use of percussion instrumentation, as well as several original songs, many of which they have cowritten. This includes the song This is Love, sung live below at a show in Toronto.

You can find out more about them at their website, and their MySpace page, which has several songs.
