Dark Monday • Liza's "City Lights"

The Act - Liza Minnelli photo LizaMinnelliTheAct_zps1c969b4d.jpg

When I watch Liza Minnelli sing on the 1978 Tony Awards show, I get all kinds of feelings going on. You see, she is singing a number from the 1977 production of 'The Act', and I just happened to have seen that show while on a school trip. As a student at Smyrna High School, we got on the bus to New York, and one of the best parts of the trip was seeing Liza performing live. The show, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, was a showcase for the talents of the amazing star, and I have been a fan ever since.

 photo TheAct1977Broadwaymusical_zpsfe3d3ee2.jpg

I still have my souvenir program, for which I think I paid $10, and sometimes pull it out to remind myself of that remarkable time, and that sensational performance by Minnelli. I went out and purchased the Original Broadway Cast Recording, and still listen to it till this day. It helps me remember the show, and being dazzled by costumes by Halston, the sets of Tony Walton, and the direction of Martin Scorsese. The second act opened with a rousing number, "City Lights". That also happens to be the number she did for the Tony Awards. After a wonderful introduction by actor Robert Guillaume, Liza gives her thoughts on the urban vs rural discussion with "City Lights".

I am just so glad to see this again, and be reminded that Liza also won the Tony Award for her performance. Somehow, this boy from a small town in Delaware managed to see two of the four nominated performances. In case you were wondering, it was Liza and the fantabulous Madeline Kahn in 'On The Twentieth Century', which was also great. However, if I had a vote, it would have gone to Liza. You can purchase the Original Broadway Cast album for 'The Act' from iTunes and Amazon. To learn more about Liza Minnelli, visit her official website. You can also 'like' her on Facebook.

Adam Joseph • Pride (A Deeper Love)

I am a big fan of the very talented Adam Joseph for a bit now, since I first came across his music video for "Flow With The Soul", his first single. As an out and proud gay man, Adam has never shied away from themes and topics that address his life. His sexy R&B stylings have kept me warm on many a winter night, and made some steamy summer nights a bit cooler. He recently posted a video on YouTube which celebrates moments in recent history that all members of the LGBT community should be proud to witness. And the song he wrote for the occasion is just magnificent. This is singer/songwriter Adam Joseph with "Pride (A Deeper Love)".

For more about Adam Joseph, visit him on his official website. You can also 'like' him on Facebook, and 'follow' him on Twitter. Adam's latest album, 'Love Philosophy', is available for purchase on iTunes, or on Amazon. You can purchase his first album, 'How I Seem To Be', from iTunes, CD Baby, or Amazon. And don't forget there is plenty to be proud of, and to celebrate!

Chely Wright • Heavenly Days

Chely Wright photo chely_wright-glaad_media_awards_zps5375bbb9.jpg

I thought I would offer everyone a beautiful song this Sunday morning, both artistically and spiritually fitting the Sabbath. In 2010, Country singer/songwriter Chely Wright performed at the Glaad Media Awards in San Fransisco, California, after the talented lady had come out, the first big name performer in Country music to do so. She performed "Heavenly Days", a great track off the album 'Lifted Off the Ground'. Wrigth was joined on stage by Rodney Crowell, who was a great support for her. This is Chely singing "Heavenly Days".

I have to say, "Heavenly Days" is one of my favorites off the album, but the whole album is pretty special. You can purchase 'Lifted Off the Ground' from iTunes and Amazon. You can also purchase the documentary 'Wish Me Away' from Amazon,  and also from the artist's website. For more about Chely, visit her official website. Amazing Ladies Sing About Love

Torch Songs photo Torch003_zps8b189536.jpg
Clockwise: Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore, Dione Warwick, and Rosemary Clooney.

I find it impossible for me to do a torch song post without being in awe of the group of talented ladies. It is a collection of classic voices, some with household names, others with a bit of a cult following. The first young lady was singing background vocals for many of the top stars of the late 50s and early 60s, having been first noticed singing with a gospel group, which won the weekly amateur contest at the legendary Apollo Theater. Soon she was noticed by in one of the sessions by writer Burt Bacharach, who, along with writing partner Hal David, singed the young lady with the voice they loved. Soon Dionne was singing their songs and making the pairing of Dionne with Bacharach and David a steady member of the Pop charts. That would include their startling song from 1964, "Walk On By".

While she couldn't seem to get a job with a big band the way every other girl singer was doing in the late 30s, she became the first woman singer to take her talent solo, and certainly made a name for herself in the 40s and 50s. Dinah Shore couldn't get the job with Benny Goodman or either Tommy or Jimmy Dorsey, so she followed her own path to fame. In 1944, she appeared in Belle of the Yukon, and sung the beautiful song by Jimmy van Heusen, "Like Someone In Love". She later went on to host her own talk show. Despite several marriages and high-profile relationships, Dinah's support of Women's Golf somehow translated into constant rumors of her being a lesbian, which is not really supported by any fact.

Our next singer needs no introduction, especially form me. Ella Fitzgerald is a brilliant singer, with a career spanning seven decades, from the 30s to the 90s. she just had so much talent, be it her ability to scat, to groove on some jazz, or just flat out sing a song. This video is of her singing Cole Porter's great song, "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye". This clip is from 1965, but she originally recorded the song in 1956.

I can't tell you how much I loved the ovice of our final singer tonight. My mother played her music, and she was certainly in some of my favorite films I remember watching, including 'White Christmas'. Rosemary Clooney's voice was so lovely, with a depth of tone that could bring you to tears as easily as it could get you dancing. Enjoy her singing her 1954 hit, "Hey There", written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross for their Broadway musical, 'The Pajama Game'.

I just can't get enough...

Westlife • Catch My Breath

Westlife - Catch My Breath photo WESTLIFECatchMyBreath_zps556eb1b2.jpg

Last night, I brought you a group of songs sung by popular boybands of another time. It reminded me of my all-time favorite boyband, which I did not include in that post. So now, Westlife will get a post of their own. Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily, and Kian Eganmade some beautiful music together, and I love to listen to it. Even though the Irish boys are no longer together, listening to them just makes be so happy. This is the boys of Westlife singing "Catch My Breath" at their live show at Croke Park, a fantastic stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

"Catch My Breath" can be found on the album 'Back Home', the 2007 release with several great songs. I love "Something Right", "Home". "I'm Already There", and "Us Against the World", there is something about "Catch My Breath" that I cannot deny. It just charms me to the core. You can purchase 'Back Home' from iTunes and Amazon. To learn more about Westlife, visit the official website.

Boy Band Friday Nite!

98 Degrees Backstreet Boys
'N Sync New Kids On The Block
Clockwise: 98 Degrees; Backstreet Boys; New Kids On The Block; and 'N Sync.

It was not that long ago when you wanted to go out on a weekend to dance, you knew you'd be hearing the music of some of the exceptional "boy bands" that were so very popular. Take, for instance, any of the songs sung by Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson. You might better know them as the Backstreet Boys, so extremely popular in the 90s and beyond. From 1996 to 2005, they had four multi-Platinum selling albums, with almost 31 million album sales in the United State alone. In 1997, we were all dancing to "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)".

Before he'd met Jessica Simpson, before he had a solo career, Nick Lachey was a member of the group 98 Degrees with Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, and brother Drew Lachey. They released three albums, and had one go Gold, and the other two score multi-Platinum sales numbers. Later, Nick was known for the reality series with his then-wife, Jessica. Brother Drew went on to win the second season of 'Dancing With The Stars'. The group was very good looking, and had tight vocals, as you could hear on songs like 2000's "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)".

'N Sync was another band that had only three studio albums, yet the sales numbers were astronomical. The second album, 'No Strings Attached', sold 2.42 million in just the first week of release. The popularity of Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez could not be denied, and can still be seen today. Back in 2000, every club could be heard playing mixes of the Top 5 Billboard song, "Bye, Bye, Bye".

In many ways, New Kids On The Block, who later tried to hip their image up going by NKOTB, are the big daddy of all these bands. Between 1986 and 1994, they had four albums, three of which went multi-Platinum. Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, and Jonathan Knight were living the high life, with screaming girls meeting them everywhere they went. And you'd be sure to hear "Step By Step" if you were going out in 1990, but you could still hear it a decade later when you were also hearing the latest from the other bands. They recently reunited, and went out on tour with Backstreet Boys, causing yet another stir.

Enjoy the weekend!

Martha Wash • I'm Not Coming Down

Martha Wash - I'm Not Coming Down photo MarthaWash4BD-video_zps6d580fea.jpg

Martha Wash is no stranger to the Dance Clubs, to the recording studio, or making us want to work up a sweat in all the right ways. Her voice is bold, distinctive, and oh-so-warm to hear. We've all heard her voice, and have danced to her often. You see, she's been making music for a bit, and you might remember her as half the diva-force behind The Weather Girls, with their song "It's Raining Men", a song I still love whenever I hear it. Before that, we were all heading out to the dance floor when we hard her tell us she was "(Gonna Make You Sweat) Everybody Dance Now", under the guise of the C+C Music Factory. And when she worked with Black Box to create "Strike It Up", we couldn't fit any more friends on the dance floor. So when I hear she had a new music video coming out, I couldn't wait to hit play!

Martha Wash - I'm Not Coming Down photo MarthaWashImNotCcomingDownCOVER_zpsce5caa94.jpg

Once we get past all the Diva-liciousness that is Martha Wash, we have to notice that she worked on the track with two-time Grammy nominated DJ and producer, Tony Moran. Together they work magic, for the song is at #4 on the Billboard Dance/Club Songs chart, and promises to keep rising. The last time they teamed up was in 2007, when "Keep Your Body Workin'" went to #1 on the Billboard Dance chart. I love the energy and charm in "I'm Not Coming Down", and you can't deny Martha Wash's charisma. And who can help but stare and smile at the boys dancing with Martha? The is Martha Wash with "I'm Not Coming Down".

The song is a delicious cross between Dance and R&B, offering up great energy was well as a strong melody. And Martha is still at the top of her game, her voice sounding like it always has, smooth, warm, and unbelievably rich! You can purchase "I'm Not Coming Down" from iTunes and Amazon. Sir JET • Shout Out to the Lonely

Sir JET photo SirJET004_zps213d2d43.jpg Sir JET photo SirJET007_zps5f9c6ac2.jpg

I first became acquainted with the music of Joel Evan Tye when I saw his music video to "I'll Keep Smiling" on LOGO. I loved the song, and thought the singer/songwriter was quite handsome. As enchanted as I might have been, I must admit I lost contact with him after I purchased the single - the only music I knew was available. That was back in 2009, I think, and only recently, I found him once again. Now going by the name Sir JET, his monogram, as it were, he has a new sound, and a new image, losing the earnest vibe for sure. He released "Shout Out to the Lonely", an explosive and energetic dance track with a strong message.

Sir JET - Shout Out to the Lonely photo SirJetShout-OuttotheLonelyCOVER_zpsa940df87.jpg

When Sir JET talks about his journey, it now includes listening to himself, and allowing his appearance, the clothes and the styling, to be an extension of himself, of what he is feeling. This lead to the gender-bending look of Sir JET, as he allows both his masculine and feminine sides to be on display, and not to be afraid of either. This new expressive freedom seems to have served him sell, for the 'Shout Out to the Lonely' EP is bold, honest, and authentic. You can see and feel that in the official music video for the "Shout Out to the Lonely".

I really enjoyed the four-track EP, and really loved the last song, "Like God". There is a wonderful honesty in the song, and I just can't get enough of it. In fact, I really enjoyed all the tracks, and recommend it highly. You can purchase the 'Shout Out to the Lonely' EP from iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon. Sam Smith & Mary J Blige • Stay With Me (Live)

It is tough to come up with anything witty or smart to say about a duet between Sam Smith and the wonderful Mary J. Blige. Sam seems to be the 'it' boy of the hour, but for once, the talented man lives up to the hype. And what more can be said about Mary J? I mean, that voice is so rich and sounds so damn sweet, and both connect to their material like few could. So when they came together to sing Smith's latest single, it was bound to be something special. When it happens on the stage of the famed Apollo Theater, because Mary J. Blige shows up unannounced to perform with Smith, well, that is just to great. This is the video from Mary J. Blige and Sam Smith singing "Stay With Me".

You can purchase "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith and featuring Mary J. Blige from iTunes. You can also find the song by Sam on his latest release, 'In the Lonely Hour'. You can purchase the album from iTunes and Amazon. For more about Sam Smith, visit his official website. You can also 'like' him on Facebook, and 'follow' him on Twitter. Anthony Callea • One More Try

Anthony Callea photo AnthonyCallea534x286_zpsb53cea22.jpg

When I first heard Anthony Callea would be putting on a live concert to celebrate the music of George Michael, I was both excited and envious of his Australian fans who would be getting a chance to attend. I have been dreaming of seeing this young man singing live ever since I first saw a video of him singing on Australian Idol. Thus far, I've only been able to live vicariously through those Australian fans, who I will admit are quite generous with their sharing, both with pictures and videos! The show quickly sold out, and it must have had people thinking, for it seems it was videotaped, and will soon be a DVD and a live CD. And Anthony is taking the show on tour in Australian, for those lucky people!

Anthony Callea photo AnthonyCalleaLive_zps6cdc4b54.jpg

To promote all that, Anthony was recently on 'The Morning Show' down under, and they were good enough to post the video on YouTube. Anthony went on to sing a song by Michael, and I was damn near giddy when I hit play. And just as I expected, Anthony proves himself to be an outstanding vocalist and interpreter, for he is exceptional with "One More Try", a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988, as well as many other music charts around the world. This is Anthony with "One More Try".

Well, that gave me goose bumps, and triggered a response. His voice is so special, with a gorgeous tone, and a wonderful fullness. I knew I needed to have the DVD, and so I sent out to find it. You can pre-order your autographed copy of the 'Ladies & Gentlemen: The Songs of George Michael" DVD, visit Sanity Online. I've purchased from them before, and they have always delivered. It might take a bit longer to get to my mailbox in Delaware, but it does get to me. And I cannot wait!

World Cup Fever • Official Songs

FIFA World Cup 2014 photo WCfifa-world-cup-2014-brazil-logo_zpsebe8f2ff.jpg Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Claudia Leitte - We Are One photo WCPitbull-Jennifer-Lopez-And-ClaudiaLeitteWeAreOne_zps272e8ab0.jpg Shakira - Waka Waka photo WCShakirawakawaka_zps17efd7d5.jpg

Clockwise: FIFA World Cup 2014 logo; We Are One 2014 cover; Waka Waka 2010 cover; La Copa de la Vida 1998 cover; Boom 2002 cover; and The Time of Our Lives 2006 cover.

As part of my celebration of FIFA World Cup, the international soccer tournament being held in Brazil, I thought it might be nice to visit the official songs from the last few World Cups. I must admit from the top that, in reality, I was only aware of two of the last five songs prior to doing the research for this post. To start with, I will mention that World Cup is an international football competition, the kind known as soccer in the United States. For much of the world, it is a huge thing, and it seems as though the US is starting to catch up with that thought. This year, the games are being held in Brazil, the first time in South America since 1978. The official World Cup Song is "We Are One", performed by Pitbull, featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte. I must admit, even thought I have watched several of the games, I have yet to really register hearing this song. So, for what it is worth, this is Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte with "We Are One", the 2014 World Cup Song.

Now if we go back four years to the previous World Cup, held in South Africa, I think of two things. The first is the horrible drone of the Vuvuzela, that noisemaker I wish to never hear again. The second is Shakira's very catchy tune, "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)". I do remember this song, and hearing it during the competition. I must admit, I think Shakira is a charismatic performer, and to pair her up with the South Africa band Freshlyground was a clever move. This is Shakira and Freshlyground with "Waka Waka", the 2010 World Cup Song.

The 2006 competition was held in Germany, and I must admit, I didn't watch very much of it. Not because it was in Germany, but because I didn't really know much about soccer. The "official song" was "Zeit dass sich was dreht (Celebrate The Day)" performed by Herbert Grönemeyer featuring Amadou & Mariam, and I had never heard of the song, nor the performers. However, there was also an official anthem, and while I had never heard of that either, I was at least familiar with the performers. The song was "The Time of Our Lives", sung by classical singers Il Divo and R&B diva Toni Braxton. The song was written by Swedish songwriter Jörgen Elofsson and produced by British guru Steve Mac. This is the official music video for "The Time of Our Lives", sung by Il Divo and featuring Toni Braxton, the 2006 World Cup anthem.

In 2002, the FIFA World Cup was help in South Korea and Japan, giving it a distinctive Pacifica feel. Interestingly enough, the official song was "Boom", performed by American singer/songwriter Anastacia. She co-wrote the song with muscial powerhouse Glen Ballard, best known for his work with Alanis Morissette and Michael Jackson. This is another song that falls in the category of songs I don't recall at all, so I can't tell you I even heard it. This is the official music video for Anastacia's "Boom", the official song of the 2002 World Cup.

In 1998, the FIFA World Cup was held in France. While I am sure there were plenty of French artists dying to represent, that was not to be. It seems they chose a handsome young Puerto Rican man to do the honors, and he handled it quite well. They picked Ricky Martin, who sang a little ditty written by Luis Gómez Escolar, Desmond Child, and Draco Rosa. Now this one, I distinctly remember. I thought it was joyous and fun, and reintroduced me to Ricky Martin, my future husband. I saw him singing it on television, and he took my breath away, and left me intrigued. The next year, he would be releasing huge hits like "Livin' la Vida Loca" and "Shake Your Bon-Bon". His rousing performance at the the 41st Annual Grammy Awards made everyone sit up and take notice of the talented Latino. This is the official music video for Ricky Martin's "La Copa de la Vide (Cup of Life)", the 1998 world Cup Song.

Of these five songs, this is truly my favorite. It is also the only one that can be found in my iTunes. But I also enjoyed Shakira's song, too. All the songs are available on iTunes and Amazon. The FIFA World Cup competition is set to conclude on July 13th, when the final is scheduled to be played. At this point, the US team is still in contention to compete for the title, with a win and a tie in their first two impressive performances.

World Cup Fever • Soccer Practice

Jonny McGovern - Soccer Practice photo jonnymcgovernnudebutts_zps80408529.jpg
Jonny McGovern - Soccer Practice photo JonnyMcGovernsoccer-practice_zpsff7173be.png Jonny MCGovern - Gay Pimp photo JonnyMcGovernGayPimp3607-10826_zps9a5d31dc.jpg

As we are in the full throws of World Cup fever, I wanted to revisit another soccer-themed music video with a very gay twist. It seems like anything involving Jonny McGovern, the gifted entertainer, will have a bawdy gay angle to it. I first became acquainted with McGovern when he was part of the cast of 'The Big Gay Sketch Show', back when LOGO was still doing gay programming, and not stripped down my MTV. He was so funny, I checked him out further, and discovered he recorded Rap and Hip-Hop under his character name, The Gay Pimp. I had read the character came to him after reading an interview featuring Eminem. The Gay Pimp is similar in his outrageous behavior, with no need to put down minorities. In 2003, he released 'Dirty Gay Hits', a spicy and delicious treat I still enjoy. It included songs like "The Wrong Fag to F*ck With", "Dirty Gay Stuff", and "KoKo Would Like A Bump". But the real star of the collection was "Soccer Practice", a delectable song about dirty muscular boys working out and taking showers. To help celebrate the ongoing competition of the World Cup, this is the music video for The Gay Pimp's "Soccer Practice".

Every time this song begins to play, I cannot help but smile. And if I am watching the video, my grin becomes even bigger. "Soccer Practice" can be found on Jonny McGovern's album, 'Dirty Gay Hits'. The album is available on iTunes and Amazon. To learn more about Johnny McGovern, visit his official website. You can also 'like' him on Facebook, and 'follow' him on Twitter.

World Cup Fever • Football Song

 photo MattFishelFootballSong1_zpsa24ce5b9.jpg

I just couldn't let the coverage of the FIFA World Cup tournament without a nod to one of my favorite soccer songs ever, "Football Song". I first heard it in 2009, when I discovered the music of Matt Fishel, the British singer/songwriter. I instantly loved Matt's music, which displayed charm, humor, and intelligence in abundance. Now five years later, and I still think of this song whenever I see soccer on the TV schedule.

 photo MattFishelFootballSong_zps3d86614b.jpg

The song is smart and fun, which I find irresistible. Any song which tells the story of a young gay boy's view of any sport certainly has my attention. When it goes on to take a look at what might be going on behind the locker room, and I can't help but smile. And the video has the most charming performance by the darling young man playing a young 'Matt'. And now that World Cup is here, I think of the song often, and have watched the video a few times as well! This is Matt Fishel with "Football Song".

"Football Song" can be found on Matt's 2013 release, 'Not Thinking Straight'. You can purchase the album from iTunes and Amazon. You can also order hard copies, as well as autographed hard copies of the CD from Matt's online store. To learn more about Matt Fishel, visit his official website. Dark Monday • Sex Is In The Heel

 photo KinkyBootsSexIsInTheHeel_zps49b79fb9.jpg
 photo KinkyBoots1000_zps816a01f2.jpg

On April 4, 2013, 'Kinky Boots' debuted on Broadway. The musical featured music and lyrics by the incomparable Cyndi Lauper, and a book by the great Harvey Fierstein. The cast was also stellar, with Stark Sands, Annaleigh Ashford, and the outrageously talented Billy Porter. To top it all off, it was both directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell. It stole many a heart during the early run, including from several critics. When it came time for the Tony Awards, the show took home six trophies, including one for Mitchell for his choreography, and for Best Musical. Porter took home a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical, and Lauper took one for Best Original Score. In fact, Cyndi was the first woman to take home the Tony as the sole contributor to the score.

 photo KinkyBootsCyndiBilly_zpse3f3b12b.jpg

The show was inspired by the 2005 film, which was, in fact, inspired by a 1999 documentary about a man's attempt to save a family business. The storyline remained, as Charlie, played by Stark Sands, inherits the family shoe company, and tries to figure out a way to save the failing business. He meets Lola, a drag queen with plenty of style played by Billy Porter. Soon, Charlie asks Lola to help him design a line of footwear for the drag market. In one song, Lola explains to Charlie her philosophy of she design. This is Billy Porter singing "Sex is in the Heel" from 'Kinky Boots'.

I love the album, and it is a great addition to my iTunes playlist. You can purchase the Original Broadway Cast Recording of 'Kinky Boots' from iTunes and Amazon. To learn more about the show, and to find out the schedule for the Broadway production and the upcoming US tour, visit the official website. You can also 'follow' 'Kink Boots' on Twitter, and 'like' the fan page on Facebook.

Jace Everett • Bad Things

Jace Everett photo jaceeverett_zps3645de80.jpg

The start of the final season of 'True Blood' snuck up on me, and I am not sure how. After all, I had been watching some of the earlier season marathons this week. After all, how can I miss a chance to see Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, and Joe Manganiello in various states of undress? But with the start of every episode, I am reminded what a good song it has for a theme song. "Bad Things", as performed by Country singer Jace Everett, is a perfect match for the show, with a sexy and Southern edge.

Jace Everett - Bad Things photo JaceEverettBadThings_zps0494bc98.jpg

"Bad Things" was written and first recorded by the band The Radiacs, a group that blends Psychedelia with Rockabilly for a unique sound. But the show picked up a cover by Jace Everett, whose rich tone gives an added weight to the song, especially the bad things in the title. And his southern twang helps to relate the recording to the Louisiana base of the show. This is the music video for Jace Everett's "Bad Things".

For more about Jace Everett, you can visit his official website. You can purchase Jace Everett's recording of "Bad Things" from iTunes and Amazon.

Ryan Dolan • Fall to the Floor

Ryan Dolan - Fall to the Floor photo RyanDolanFalltotheFloorCOVER_zps4093963e.jpg

I just recently discovered the music of Ryan Dolan, the Irish singer/songwriter, a few months ago, when I saw the video for "Start Again", a touching and personal song about the journey many travel, growing up bullied and afraid. It was so real, so authentic, I played it several times before I could take a break. Now he has a new single out, and it is very different than "Start Again". "Fall to the Floor" is a song that explores the world of an adult. It talks about the moment you hear about the end of a relationship, when it feels like you have been kicked in the stomach. It is both melodic and real, a combination I cannot resist. This is Ryan Dolan singing "Fall to the Floor".

I really love this song, a delicious Pop treat. It is a wonderful combination of music and emotion that moves me to the core. You can purchase "Fall to the Floor" from iTunes and Amazon. To learn more about Ryan Dolan, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook.

I have made no secret how much I love the music of the blue-eyed soul of Brit Sam Dickinson. I pre-ordered his album 'The Stories That Occurred' based on a few samples, and I was not disappointed when I finally heard it. In fact, I was ecstatic, and it is still in rotation on my iPod. In fact, last week, it played while I cut grass, and sang along! The album has already spawned a couple of music videos, including the inspirational "Lift Your Head". I am telling you, I just can't get enough.

When I heard Sam was filming a video for the song "When You Left Me", I had to admit I let out a bit of a squeal, I was so excited. The song addresses a love affair that ended too early, before you were ready for it to happen. It takes you through it all, from feeling a little guilty to the anger that grows until you shout. This is the music video for "When You Left Me".

"When You Left Me" can be found on 'The Stories That Occurred', released almost a year ago. I am telling you, if the next music video is for "I've gone, I've Quit", I will be damn near giddy. You can purchase 'The Stories That Occurred' from iTunes, Amazon, and other online music stores. To learn more about Sam Dickinson, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. I am sure he'd love it if you said "hello"!
