In the music video, Alber plays four different roles, all painted with a stylish broad stroke by Matt. Now, it doesn't take much encouragement for me to listen to Matt singing, and this music video offers delights to the eyes and the ears. This is Matt Alber  with his video for "Tightrope".

You can purchase the Remixes from iTunes and Amazon. The proceeds benefit Larkin Street Youth Services, a charity Matt has supported before with single sales. Any Given Tuesday...

Any Given Tuesday photo AnyGivenTuesday_zps34f11f32.jpg

As sad as it might seem while elected members of the government refuse to see past one or two issues, the world continues to move on, with or without them. While the children across this country are finding themselves homeless, the government seems more intent on fighting the same battle time and time again, ignoring issues that impact their constituency, both present and future. Teens are finding themselves homeless everywhere, but they seem to head to the metropolitan areas to find their way. An amazingly high number of those kids are LGBT youth, kicked out of their homes by parents who believe any God would believe hate, anger, and judgement are preferable to love, peace, and acceptance. Watch this short film written & directed by Trent Kendrick, and starring Noland Ammon, 'Any Given Tuesday...'

We know that on any given Tuesday, children are being turned out of their homes because they may be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. By example, they are being taught love is not something given freely, but instead offered only to those who fit the description given by men, not any higher power. They are taught the world is filled with with people willing to point a finger, but never look in the mirror. They are taught they are unworthy of love, especially from their so-called 'Christian' families.

And when these families refuse to do their job, to offer love, support, and nurturing for their own children, that is when we must all step up and try to do what they could not. We must show these kids they are loveable, and if they can find a way to make it through life safely, things will indeed get better. They are not only capable of being loved, they actually deserve to be. We live in the best country in the world, and we should be able to care for one another, not just ourselves and those who follow a set of rules we often ignore when it benefits us. Support the Gay & Lesbian Centers in your area, as well as those in the major cities, where abandoned and runaway kids congregate. To start with, you can give money to the Centers in Los Angeles, New York City, and San Fransisco, although there a so many doing great work. If you live close by a Center, they are more than happy to have your time as a volunteer, as well as your support with a contribution to give these kids at least part of what their shameful families have failed to give them. Remind them the world is a placed filled with love, and everyone is entitled to be loved, and to love in return.

Top: Handsome men Levi Kreis, left, and QBoy, right.

Levi Kreis has released a set of remixes for one of the hot songs off his latest album, 'Imagine Paradise'. On the album, Levi collaborates with British Rapper QBoy, ending up with an energetic and sexy song. And if having Levi and QBoy together isn't sexy enough for anyone, you know what ups the ante here? Levi has released an eight-track Remix collection that is now available. I've heard it, and it is wonderful. It is perfect for your workout playlist, kicking off your weekend, or just to satisfy your aural needs. And, if you buy it between now and November 4, 2013, 100% of the money will go to Positively Living, a Knoxville, Tennessee-based charity.

Positively Living photo Positively_Living_zps34ea8cba.jpg

Positively Living is a not-for-profit service agency that provides housing and care for persons that are homeless and suffering from HIV/AIDS, mental illness, addiction, or physical disability. Life has not been great for LGBT residents of Tennessee, who has seen some of the most hurtful anti-gay legislation, at a time when many states are making the dream of equality a reality. Levi was raised in Eastern Tennessee, and knew the hardships of growing up in an environment of bullying, religious persecution, and attempts at ex-gay therapy. After fighting that and addiction issue, Levi found his way to sobriety and a new life, one that included being an out and proud gay man making music, and winning a Tony Award for his first show on Broadway. Now Levi has the opportunity to offer back to the community, to offer a hand to the LGBT adults and youth, he is stepping up to the plate. All the money for purchases of 'Love Revolution: The Remixes' from BandCamp will be going to Positively Living. While you ponder that act of altruism, give a listen to one of the tracks from the collection, "Love Revolution (Golishevsky Remix)".

'Love Revolution: The Remixes' is available on BandCamp. If you click on "Buy Now", you can name the amount of money that will be given to Positively Living. So between now and November 4th, you have the opportunity to get some great music, and make the lives of some folks just a little bit better. That sounds like a win-win to me! For more about Levi Kreis, visit his official website. You can also 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. To learn about QBoy, visit his official website, 'follow' him on Twitter, and 'like' him on Facebook. I am sure both would appreciate hearing from you, so feel free to do so!

Thanks to a post by Kyle Leach, who had the wonderful blog Out Left, I got to see this truly amazing video from an incredible 18-year-old young man. Troye Sivan might be best known for his portrayal of Young James in the film 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'. He also played the role of John 'Spud' Milton the 2010 film 'Spud', as well as the 2013 sequel, 'Spud 2: The Madness Continues'. The young actor, who also has a popular YouTube channel where he often posts videos about himself, took the opportunity to come out to his YouTube followers and fans. In the video, Troye shows such wonderful insight, and a beautiful honesty that truly made me totally engaged in his video.

Troye has such a charm, and seems to be such a smart thinking young man, I can't help but have faith in the future. I wish him all the luck in the world, but don't think he'll need it. He is a young man who has a strong core, worth celebrating. Beneath the video, he also offers links to The Trevor Project, TrevorSpace, Human Rights Campaign, Minus18, and GLAAD, all organization offering up a resource to LGBT Youth. Welcome to the family, Troye!

Linq • Oh Bully

Photobucket
Photobucket Photobucket

Today is Spirit Day, but I'd like to think we are willing to support out LGBT Youth, and all Youth who are victims of bullying, every day. Bullying takes a tremendous toll on us all, and hurts us as a whole. Whenever we allow systematically hurt a segment of society, we become a land of thugs. We are far stronger people when we are holding one another up than when we are allowing people to be torn down.

So if you know someone who is being bullied, tell them it will get better. If you know someone who is being a bully, remind them that it can get better if they learn to live with tolerance and love, rather than bile and hatred. For more about Linq, check out her official website here. To purchase this single, visit iTunes here, or Amazon here.

I saw this video and knew I had to post it. It is very simple, clear and straight-forward - stand together to bring the end to homophobia and bullying. And there is plenty of proof Ireland had plenty of pretty boys who aren't members of Westlife or Boyzone. Check This out.

If only more poeple would stand up to bullying of any kind!

Brendan MacLean Covers Rebecca Black's Friday

Brandon MacLean
Brandon MacLean

Thanks to the gorgeous and talented David Raleigh (you can find his music here), I heard new music by this beautiful Aussie boy, Brendan MacLean. Since it is, you know, like Friday, I thought it would be perfect to run Brendan's charming and funny cover of one of the more annoying songs of the past year or so.

Now, I should point out that David was pointing me toward Brendan's music, not this clip. You know I love supporting out and proud members of the LGBT community, and Brendan sure qualifies. I will be talking about his EP, cause I bought it and just love it. Quite the talented boy. You can find him online here.

Sir Ari Gold for the Ali Forney Center

Sir Ari Gold

Last week I celebrated Ari Gold's birthday. This week, I have found a video of a recent performance where Gold featured his latest single, Make My Body Rock, and was raising money for the Ali Forney Center in New York City, a foundation which offers housing to LGBT Youth. And as Ari is not one to scrimp on the production values when he performs, he did pull out all the stops, and offered up this extravaganza at the club Hiro in New York City. Get ready to crank up the volume and go full screen, cause HEEEEEEEERRRRREEEE's Ari!

About The Ali Forney Center
As the visibility of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people grows in our society, more and more LGBT teens are finding the courage to come out of the closet.

Tragically, as many as 25% of these teens are rejected by their families, and many end up homeless on the streets. Homeless LGBT teens are more likely than straight homeless teens to be subjected to violence on the streets, and in the homeless shelter system. They suffer from inordinate rates of mental illness, trauma, HIV infection and substance abuse.

The Ali Forney Center (AFC) was started in June of 2002 in response to the lack of safe shelter for LGBT youth in New York City. We are committed to providing these young people with safe, dignified, nurturing environments where their needs can be met, and where they can begin to put their lives back together.

You can go to their website HERE, and donate money to support this amazing organization. You can check out what great work they do, and see some great videos. You can also join their mailing list and receive regular updates on the activities at the Center.

For more information about Ari Gold, you can check out the post here, can provide information, as well as links.

It Gets Better - Philadelphia

It Gets Better Philadelphia

It Gets Better Philadelphia

The statement with the YouTube clip says it all.

It Gets Better when our entire community comes in support of LGBTQ youth! Thanks to everyone who joined us to record your message of hope and support for queer youth at this year's Philly Outfest!

The LGBT community of the city of Philadelphia gathered round to offer their words of support and encouragement to the LGBT Youth, and it is well worth hearing. Take the time to watch this video, and forward it to others who might need to hear the message. It is important to let the kids know while their world might seem dark and stormy at the moment, this too shall pass, and there is a world of change coming their way.

It Gets Better - Vice President Joe Biden

VP Joe Biden

Much can be said about Vice President Joseph Biden, Jr., but not much we Delawareans haven't already heard. You see, one of the things you can say about the man is that he is still, at heart, the same man elected Senator a couple of decades ago. For his supporters, he is a breathe of fresh air of honesty and forthright talk, and to his detractors, he can be seen as a loose cannon, a man who speaks with charm, but can be unpredictable. I've had the pleasure of voting for the man on many occasions, for he has been my Senator since before I was able to vote, up until 2008, when he became the Vice President to President Barack Obama. Biden has long been known for his liberal views on social issues, including equality for all. So it is not surprising he has made his own entry for the It Gets Better campaign. This proud Delawarean decided it was something I wanted and needed to run.

Again, after years of the LGBT community being either ignored or being used as a punching bag, I find it simply wonderful that we can now say the President, Vice President and Secretary of State have recorded and posted personalized messages of support to the youth of the community. For me, this is significant progress, and while we might not be all the to equality, it sure beats the hell outta where we've been in prior administrations.
