Driving To Chris Dallman

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday by sharing some of my favorite videos I had taken myself of some amazing artists. Today, it will be videos I didn't take, but wish I had. And I will start with Christopher Dallman. Several years ago, I was buying some music from CD Baby, and happened across his album, Race The Light. I liked the description and the reviews of others, so o added it to the order. Ever since I took the cellophane off that CD, Chris has had me in the palm of his hand. I am so in awe of his talents. This is from that first album, Driving To You.

I have seen him live, but managed only to take a few crappy pictures, and not video a single note. My loss. He had an EP, Sad Britney, that just floored me. If you haven't already, you should check it out. So here he is, covering Britney Spears' Gimme More. And his stage patter is just near genius...

I might still be on the sidelines, a cold keeping me away from the computer, but I can't let it stop me from sharing the wonderful new video from Christopher Dallman with everyone. Gimme More, from the Sad Britney EP, is a sexy recapitulation of a familiar song, the new twist adding much to the mix. So check it out!

You can buy the song on iTunes here. You can also check out his official website here. While there, don't forget to check out the 'Store' tab and sample some great music!

Glee Meets Britney Tonight!

glee,season 2

To get everyone ready, I thought I would post a couple of Britney covers I really enjoy. It will help everyone prepare for watching the show tonight. I will be starting off with one of my favorites, Christopher Dallman singing Britney's 2009 release, Radar. This is a cut off Dallman's Sad Britney EP, a must have for your collection.

While not included on any of his albums, singer/songwriter Sacha Sacket did manage to cover one of Ms. Spears oft covered songs, the 1998 song that started it all, ...Baby One More Time. This is Sacha live and in concert several years ago, and I was thrilled to find it on YouTube.

With another cut from his Sad Britney EP, where he covered four of Ms. Spears songs, Christopher Dallman returns to sing Gimme More live at a show on the West coast.

And although I already have this song covered by another artist, I thought I would just be missing the boat if I didn't add in this fan video from a live concert by Tori Amos. Here is the amazing singer/songwriter doing her own cover of ...Baby One More Time.

Remember, GLEE is on your local Fox station tonight at 8PM/7PM Central.

Christopher Dallman - Anthem

Sometimes, luck just runs your way. A couple of years ago, I was ordering CDs from CDBaby, and I read a review of Christopher Dallman's Race The Light, so I added it the order. That was a lucky day for me, for when that package arrived, I was blown away by what I heard. I have been a fan ever since, and love the music he makes. Whether it is the Sad Britney EP, with his take on some Britney Spears songs, the singles Subterranean or Anthem, or his latest EP, Never Was, I have loved them all. I recently caught his live show in New York, and my love only grew. Here is Anthem, a beautiful song talking about marriage Equality song, something he knows a bit about, having married his partner, Josh Pohja.

And, speaking of Josh, he took the photographs and edited the video for the Gimme More video from the Sad Britney EP. Quite the talented couple!

Live Show with Christopher Dallman

Christopher Dallman

Tonight, I am at a live show of Christopher Dallman [website here] at the Rockwood Music Hall, and I hope to reporting back on how spectacular it was very soon. Until then, I will leave you with a couple of performances by Christopher caught on tape. The first is Right On Time, from his debut album, Race The Light. I bought it several years ago, and have been a fan of the man since.

Dallman also released an EP of his own takes on the music of Britney Spears, called Sad Britney. It is really incredible, a collection I still listen to all the time. This is Gimme More.

And, finally, Dallman released Never Was, an EP with original tunes written by this talented man. If you don't have it already, you really should buy it now. This song from that EP is called Ghosts.

The show starts at 9PM, and I cannot wait. It will be the first time I've seen him performing live, and it should be fantastic!

Live Music - Chris Dallman, kinda

I am hoping to be seeing Christopher Dallman this year, but in the meanwhile, I get to watch tapes of live shows from the West Coast, when I am luck enough to find them. In December he had two shows, and I was lucky enough to catch one on the web. Theoretically, at least, I am going to see Christopher and singer/songwriter Aiden James perform in late Spring/early Summer when they bring their 'Double Trouble' tour to the East Coast.

The first clip is Christopher singing Little Bit of Blue from his excellent Never Was EP, one of two EPs he released this past fall. You can purchase it here.

Next up is Over My Head, the song behind his first official music video. It is also a song off his first album, Race The Light, my introduction to his music a few years ago that still leaves me breathless. You can purchase it here.

In the Fall, Christopher released a second EP, Sad Britney. On it, Christopher put his own spin on the songs of Britney Spears, including for the song Gimme More. You can purchase Sad Britney here.

So I am excited to catch both artists live. I have seen Aiden on several occasions, including one night at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia. That show was released on CD, and you can purchase this great show here.

New Video - Christopher Dallman - Gimme More

Sad Brittney continues to live on, thanks to the artistry of Christopher Dallman. He put together a video for Gimme More by going out with his hubby, a friend and a camera, to create a video for his cover of the Britney Spears song, Gimme More. All I can say is 'Effin' Brill-E-Ant.'

To buy Sad Britney - and you just should, since it is just $3.96 and worth way more than that - you can find it on iTunes here. And you can check his official website here.
