Being Human SyFy • Renewed For 3rd Season

SyFy Being Human Season 2

While Season Two of SyFy's Being Human is in the books, having aired the finale just last Monday night, it was already announced that there will be a third season of the SyFy Channel show. Of course, the show is based on the BBC series of the same name, but for much of the second season, it has resisted telling the same story as the original, and has instead branched off with it's own tales to tell. To celebrate the renewal, here is a Tribute video made by a fan, using the song Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.

For more about the show, visit the official website here. You can purchase previous episodes from the second season on both iTunes and Amazon. The song Bring Me To Life is off the album Fallen, which you can find on iTunes and Amazon.

Happy ROCKtober!

october,pumpkins

Posting is a bit light as I am under the weather, but I couldn't let the new month start without a little something. Since this is ROCKtober, I thought I would start the month out with a little rock and roll. The first entry hails from Ireland, and my boys of U2. Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullin, Junior, and Adam Clayton have been making music together for more than thirty years, and still going strong. This is October from 1981 album of the same name.

The band Evanescence has a dense and driven sound that rose above the din of American Rock in the early 2000s to truly stand out and earn the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Ben Moody and Amy Lee started the band in Little Rock, Arkansas, and they stayed together for a couple of years until creative differences drove them apart. Lead singer Lee continues on with the band, while guitarist and many of the original members of the band went on to form We Are The Fallen with singer Carly Smithson. The song October is from their Unreleased CD, with the original band members.

I guess I shall return to Ireland with the incredible voice of Dolores O'Riordan for the third and final entry tonight. O'Riordan came to my attention when she was lead singer of the amazing band The Cranberries. After the group disbanded in 2003, she went solo and has 2 albums to date. On her 2007 album, Are You Listening?, she had the beautiful song, October.

So, happy ROCKtober!

New Music - We Are The Fallen

On February 2, the band, made up of Carly Smithson, Marty O'Brien, and former Evanescence members Ben Moody, Rocky Gray, and John LeCompt, will be releasing their first single, Bury Me Alive. The song is a hard rocking one in the style of Evanescence, not surprising knowing the members. This was taped when the band played publicly for the first time at a press conference. I really like the song, the dense nature of the music.

Carly Smithson was a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol, and I thought she easily had one of the top two singers of the group. I am so glad she has found the band, for it seems like a fantastic fit. The band will be touring starting in March, in support of the debut album, set for Spring release. The first part of the tour can be seen below.

For more about We Are The Fallen, you can check them out on their official website here. You will find a more complete touring schedule and more fun stuff.
